"Let's get serious here! How did we get this debt? Ladies and gentlemen, they put two wars on a credit card. Not paying a penny, not paying a penny, even though I introduced legislation to pay for that war. They voted against it," Biden said at the Wa-Ke Hatchee Park Recreation Center. "Two, they voted for a new entitlement program without paying one penny for it, and that was clear. Number 3, they added another trillion dollars in the tax cut for the very wealthy, so what's the result? These are the facts, folks, these are the facts.

Seem like facts to me.

Bush totals the car, Republicans blame Obama for not fixing it (as they piss all over it) and will not take any blame for the accident that caused it all in the first place. Unfucking believable.

What part of Biden's comments on Bush do you disagree with?

Joe Biden, the Moron who was in the U S Senate from 1973 to 2009?

Joe Biden who VOTED for the Iraq War?

Senator Joe Biden Admits That Iraq War Vote Was a Mistake
Sunday, November 27th, 2005
NBC News

From 'Meet the Press' - November 27th, 2005

[...]

MR. RUSSERT: And yet it's important that we put things in historical context. Senator Biden, you were on the show in August of 2002 talking about Saddam Hussein and his weapons of mass destruction. You concluded your statement by saying, "I think Saddam either has to be separated from his weapons or taken out of power." A month later you voted for a resolution authorizing just that. In hindsight, knowing everything you know now about the absence of weapons of mass destruction, was your vote a mistake?

SEN. BIDEN: It was a mistake. It was a mistake to assume the president would use the authority we gave him properly. And I brought along that whole quote. I knew you'd ask me this. I said, "We know he continues to attempt to gain access to additional capability, including nuclear capability. There's a real debate on how far off that is, whether it's a matter of years or it's a matter of less than that. We don't know enough now." That was the rest of my quote. So I never argued that there was an imminent threat. We gave the president the authority to unite the world to isolate Saddam. And the fact of the matter is, we went too soon. We went without sufficient force. And we went without a plan.

MR. RUSSERT: If there was a vote today, you would vote no?

SEN. BIDEN: I--with this president, absolutely I would vote no, based on the way in which they've handled it.

StevieD, PLEASE EXPLAIN why the Democrats wouldn't fix the Housing Mess in 2003?

Sep212008

NYT 2003 ? Bush tried to stop mortgage crisis

On September 11, 2003, the New York Times ran a story with the headline:

?New Agency Proposed to Oversee Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae?

The story is amazingly prophetic. Here are the first few paragraphs of the story:

The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.

Under the plan, disclosed at a Congressional hearing today, a new agency would be created within the Treasury Department to assume supervision of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored companies that are the two largest players in the mortgage lending industry.

The new agency would have the authority, which now rests with Congress, to set one of the two capital-reserve requirements for the companies. It would exercise authority over any new lines of business. And it would determine whether the two are adequately managing the risks of their ballooning portfolios.

The plan is an acknowledgment by the administration that oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac ? which together have issued more than $1.5 trillion in outstanding debt ? is broken. A report by outside investigators in July concluded that Freddie Mac manipulated its accounting to mislead investors, and critics have said Fannie Mae does not adequately hedge against rising interest rates.

Full Story Here

The democrats in congress stopped President Bush?s plan for this major overhaul of Feddie and Fannie. Now here we are five years later and because congress choose to do nothing, we are in the middle of this major meltdown. It?s real easy to point a finger at President Bush and use him as a scapegoat, but when we really look at the truth of the matter, we see the finger prints of the democrats all over this mess.

■Democrat Barney Frank?s Fannie and Freddie Muddle
■Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae political donations

■McCain/Palin - $16,400.00 + $0.00

Nobody is disputing that the President wasn?t handed a shit sandwich. The issue I have is that his entire campaign was based on him saying "Its the worst economy since the great depression." and he promised he was the man to fix it. So don?t tell me he didn?t know how bad it was that is complete bull shit. He knew what he was getting in to. Is he the first president in history to inherit problems?? Give me a break.

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/CCN5-ovvFL0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The quote since you wont watch.
President Barack Obama said in February 2009 that his presidency would be "one-term proposition" if the economy did not recover in three years... He even called Bush un American for adding debt and he tacked on 6 trillion in 3 fucking years..

So not only is the economy not fixed its worse than ever. He promised unemployment at 5%??? OOOPS

I am simply holding him at his word. He asked to be held accountable. He made promesis that he did not keep. Now he is back peddling cause it is his only excuse.. It is his only play.. And you guys eat it up without a second thought.. So biased its ridiculous.

I might have voted for the man again if he nutted up and took some responisbility like a man and a leader.. But this blame shit is lame and a complete cop out.

Romney has as much personality as a plastic fuck doll but I dont care.... As much as my business has suffered the last three years anything ANYTHING is better than a second term for O.

Dude this is what makes me sick about guys like you with blinders on. Take them off for a minute. He tried many things and they all get blocked. How do you expect him to do it? He said he would do it, tried, and it was blocked each and every way the right could think of. AGAIN filibusters are being used at historical levels. Again filibusters are being used at a historical level. WTF, are people truly this dense. Now what he could have tried is letting the tax breaks expire but that would have put a ton of people off of unemployment which the right was using to blackmail him to get their precious tax breaks for the upper 1 percent and once again not paying for them. Get it now? You and SDD need to read more into talking points instead of just spouting them out like the two of you know something the rest of use don't.

when the Neo Cons stand up in front of America two years ago and say their number 1 priority is to keep Obama from being in a second term, and getting back the power for themselves

then and there we should all have known America was doomed for this time period.

Willard Romney big businessman will change the economy :142smilie

The economy is coming out of it finally without Willards help.

Ann Romney said this week she was worried about Willards mental health. She should be

Its funny to hear you say others have blinders when you maybe the most completely biased far left human being on the planet.. Duff a close second.. KOD King of Dongs.. Poor guy is a mental midget... I just feel sorry for the half wit. You talk about Fox (which I don?t watch) and say nothing of MSNBC.. I turned it on that channel after the conventions. I wanted to get opinions from both sides. Their panel consisted of Al Sharpten, Rachel Maddow and Chris Mathews... Took me about 3 minutes to flip the channel to local news cause like you they have no interest in anything but pushing their agenda.. Like you their is no point in listening to what they have to say b/c their opinions are so blindly biased.
Arguing with you Sponge would be like arguing with Rush Limbaugh. There is no point because you are so far to your side your mind doesn?t open to anything that doesn?t suit your agenda. You are just as bad or worse than the other side you constantly bitch about. In other words your opinions are completely worthless..
And as far as the right blocking everything
1. His first two years he had everything and everyone in place to do whatever he wanted. The economy did not get better.
2. He is the phucking president. The buck stops with him. He should be a man and take some responsibility. At least some I mean Jesus this blame shit is so 3rd grade its ridiculous.

Unfortunately there are more Obama drone sheep like yourself than not in the key states. He will be re elected. It will be interesting to see who he blames the economy on in the next few years?. After all look at the shitty economy he is about to inherit from himself.

You act like I am some far right bible banger. I voted for the man first go around. But unlike you I am holding him accountable just like he said he would be.

HOPE AND CHANGE SPONGE! Give me a break.. Foool me once :sadwave:

A. I haven't watch MSNBC in about two years possible three.
B. I give you what really is happening and if it makes you unhappy that these views lean left than prove they are wrong.
C. Having 60 votes means nothing when you have Blue Dog Democrats. Just enuf of them to screw up everything. Get back to me when he has 70 Senators. 60 is way short to stop a filibuster when you have a handful that are blue dogs which should just be named Dogs. We would have health care with a public option if these blue dog democrats didn't get in the way, So Obama having total control is just flat out bullshit.
D. Throwing out left wing talking points and than getting them shove right back up my ass would bother me and i would just say you are right or prove to you that u are wrong. Now you? You throw out your right wing talking points with no thought behind them and get butt hurt when they are proved wrong. Wash, rinse, and repeat.
