O.K......who is going to run against him in the Preakness...

Looks like all the other Derby entrants want no part of him...

I'm guessing there will be a field of at least 6 and maybe as many as 10 horses next Saturday. Odds on Big Brown will be 1/2 probably so it will be a hard race to make any big $$$. I'm gonna bet a $100.00 Exact Big Brown to win with a couple of others that I think will run second. I just hope we get through the Preakness without any trouble. Heard that PETA is making some noise about the situation that happened at the Derby. Think all be be forgiven if we can get Big Brown to win the Triple Crown. Would be the biggest sports story so far this century if he can do it!!!:yup

Can't believe modern civilization allows fanatical
dip chits like PETA to exist, it is what it :fingerc:

Eight Belles was absolutely the most beautiful
horse I've seen in years, and by that I mean she
stood up to the boys + some, and carried herself
as a champion does. I'll gaurantee you she was on
cloud nine BEFORE she was on cloud nine. Yes, it
was sad as hell to see what unfolded post race,
but to see such beauty and athleticism in two
minutes out weighs a once in ???? race tragety.

PETA should embrace these animals and their
competive exuberance and obvious satisfaction
rather than a rare breakdown. I could only hope
that when I breakdown someone will step in as
quickly and put me out of my misery.

Especially if I'm doing what I love and chit happens.

I would bet against BB in the Preakness. He has foot problems and if they act up he gets beat. At 1/2 im shopping elsewhere. BB was limping after the race.

at 1/2 he's a bargain

there might be one horse entered who can stay within 5 lengths....post position, trip should not be an issue as there wont be more than 7-8 horses in the race

I think if he handles the Preakness, and Dutrow is able to keep his feet in shape, we might have a legit shot at ending the Triple Crown drought. I agree, there won't be any money in betting hime straight-up, but maybe in working around all the exotics might do it...:SIB

Any contenders?

Any contenders?

Any feelings on the possible contenders to Big Brown or if not, the most likely to complete the exactas and trifectas?

From what I've seen, the best two possibilities for contention are Harlem Rocker and Behindatthebar. Any other thoughts?

No Samba Rooster entered for the Preakness?

Above the Clouds....
Probably a good race to lay off unless you think he can be beat. In that case use him underneath in a few exotics.

With BB on top the payoff won't be worth the risk.

Big Brown makes first visit to Pimlico track

Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1) winner Big Brown got his first look at the Pimlico Race Course surface on Thursday when he galloped two miles in preparation for the Preakness Stakes (G1) on Saturday.

?He?s confident, cool, and relaxed,? said Richard Dutrow Jr. who trains the Boundary colt for IEAH Stables and Paul Pompa Jr. ?I?m not sure that he needs to take his track with him. He looked happy out there. I won?t complain about the track if we lose.?

Big Brown has raced or trained on five different surfaces and has won on dirt and turf. With surface and disposition concerns not a factor leading up to the Preakness, only the two-week break between the Derby and Preakness worries Dutrow.

?I don?t like running back on two weeks rest,? Dutrow said. ?I can?t breeze him; I can?t work with him. He?s doing good, though; he hasn?t missed an oat.

?I?d rather run a horse on three or four-days rest or 30-40 days rest, but that doesn?t mean that?s what Big Brown wants. He?s fresh. He didn?t race a lot at two, so maybe the two weeks is an advantage for him.?

Big Brown drew the middle post position in the Preakness field of 13. He will have six to his inside and six to his outside when the race begins. Dutrow said that it will be up to jockey Kent Desormeaux to decide on what trip will work best for the Derby winner. He could be on the lead a quarter-mile into the race or he could be just off the pace.

?I hope we?re forwardly placed in the first turn,? Dutrow said. ?I hope he doesn?t have to get on his belly for this race, so we have something left for the Belmont [Stakes (G1)]. I don?t want to empty the tank.?

Big Brown is trying to become the first horse since Affirmed in 1978 to sweep the American Triple Crown and the first since Smarty Jones in ?04 to win both the Derby and Preakness. Michael Iavarone, co-president of IEAH, said that Big Brown would be unlikely to race in the Belmont if he loses the Preakness.

Dutrow is trying not to look too far ahead, though. For him, Saturday cannot get here fast enough.

?I?m just wasting time until Saturday,? Dutrow said.
