Charlotte +1.5

The difference in this game is quite simple. One team nails 3's from the outside and the other simply doesn't even shoot them. Tech averages three 3's per game. Brown and Plavich will have that many each by halftime. Tech can defend, but so can Charlotte. Tech has the "star" in Emmett, but he will be forced to carry too much of a burden. Withers is also a go to man in the clutch for Charlotte. They simply have the better overall talent and if the word "Knight" wasn't attached to this game the spread would be Charlotte 4-6. Knight does not carry the same influence at Tech. Officials no longer respect him the way they once did and the depth of the 49ers will wear out the thin Red Raiders. Tech will battle and Emmett has the heart of a lion. But you simply can't trade 2's for 3's at this stage. A game of runs for sure...but the bigger run will have multiple long range 49er bombs as opposed to Tech post ups and elbow jumbers

Charlotte 73-67

Manhattan +5.5

Stop with the underdog humping and toying with the ML on this one. Manhattan will not win this game. Florida has the better athletes all around and you stick Flores in the SEC and you come up with Anthony Roberson. Its that simple. Walsh, Lee and Moss will be too much. Manhattan will jump out to an early lead, Florida will battle and slip past the fiesty Jaspers in what I think will be a lower scoring game.

Florida 64-61

Maryland -6.5

Everyone wants to see that big upset right off the bat to start the tournament. It won't happen at noon. UTEP will hang around for a bit with their length and ability to score. Maryland is simply on fire and they won't forget how to play smart basketball in a 4 day lay-off. Gilchrist has emerged and this is still a Guards tournament. Maryland wins a shootout and slips past the number

80-69

can't believe i agree with u so much
Taking Charlotte big here 6 units
texas tech has been playing poorly lately, and they have the makings of a one and done team
They are going to rely too much on emmitt. Rest of the team can not carry this load, in a big game. Charlotte has the hunger and wants to make a statement in this game. I am with u in the knight factor. (spread wise)

Like your plays with the exception of Manhattan .... think theyare getting too much respect with that line .... really like UNCC, thought I heard somewhere where Tech's big man Tomaszek was nursing an injury which if true could really hurt TT .... anyone have any info on Texas Tech's center Tomaszek being hurt??? Or am I just imagining things?? (a possibility after St Patty's day partying). :D

cape, where yours Monmouth +17 over Miss St..
I know everyone is on Manhattan. But I really like Florida.Think MC is over there heads.I think they will play them tough for the 1st half. But Donovan should pound the ball inside. And Lee is so quick down low.

Florida's discipline worries me..they can jack up too many 3's at times...

Monmouth plays Friday at 7..the public only remember Duke pasting them a few years back..that was not a normal Monmouth team..that squad was more like ST FRancis NY and would try to outscore you with their dynamic backcourt lead by Rashan Johnson...this team is Princeton revisited..that no one knows about...waiting for line to go up over 20.

very true. niners shoot the ball well. but its no comparison on the defensive end. tech is so much more sound than charlotte. thats where i think the game will ultimately be decided. like the manhattan play

Well, I'm really starting to like Manhattan more and more, ESPN reports that Walsh has not been able to practice and has a blister the size of a tennis ball on his foot. You simply cannot play with that. I expect the Jaspers to attack him and get him in foul trouble. His shot will also be flat without his feet and will use too much arm in his J, eventually wear out...Roberson will carry them today and they very well might sneak one out alaa Butler a few years back...but the points is too high still

Jaspers +5.5
