Cuse +2.5 over Seton Hall
Love that line.Hall has come down to earth losing its last 2 games to Prov and BC.Barrett again is the straw the stirs everything. All those 6'6 greyhounds and Whitney are solid.but Prov and BC beat them up inside.
And the Cuse has some inside players.Like Warrick who can do everything inside and outside.Forth is a 7'0 Empire St building who has 25 blocked shots and alters 25 more.Edelin the 6'4 pt gd is really their best player.Mac gets all the headlines avg 18 pts with Warricks 19 pts.Four of the 5 starters shoot at a 52% FG.Thats great.granted they played their 1st 10 games in the Dome but thats still great. They are 3-0 away.
Cuse will play their 2-3 zone which I think will give the hall problems. In the past few yrs Cuse has beaten the Hall by 18,4,2,15 and 1.And Cuse was always the fav.
Barrett and Allan are the only real 3 pt shooters.Sweet,Morris,Toney-el are slashers.Whitney inside will have Forth and Mcneil to deal with. against the cuse zone I see Hall at a disadvantage playing a half court game.
Hall wants to run with Barrett. But Cuse has great transitions defense with Mac,Edl, and Pace.
I think this is a close game but the cuse wins outright.Keeping Warrick off the off bds will be tough.Mac can stick the 'J" better then anyone. How do you contain Barrett.Play zone. Cuse also has played some man to mix it up.
Also the Cuse with E at the pt don't turn it over.
I think the wrong team is favored here.Cuse wins outright.
and the Meadowlands is not a really a home court adv.Seats are to far back.hall needs a gym on campus

Notre Dame -2 over Vir tech
VT has Mathews. All everything.Avgs 24 pts a game.Has 75 off bds and avgs 10 overall.Losing their pt gd hurt big time in Gordon.Dowdell os nice but this team is a one man show.Against Maimi the other day Mathews has 33 pts.The rest of the box score for pts were 2,2,3,4,5,3,4 on his team.
ND has Thomas a great pt gd.Francis at 6'11 can play Mathews even up.Quinn can really hit from row 4.throw Cornette in there and VT is in trouble

Texas -2 over Mizzou rebounding dominance
NC St -1.5 over BC..Hodges
Wake forest -4.5 over Ga tech....Wake will win and cover
Ohio +8 over Akron...they always cover vs the zips.

Cuse ******

Above the Clouds....
Box,

I believe SHall is one of those system plays that usually hits pretty good. Nickleback would know. Go against a ranked road dog. GL

Damn Box, hate to be on the other side from you. But the system play is too good to pass up. Syracuse has simply not faced a defense this tough on the road. If they can duplicate their 56% FG, 50% 3Pt. performance from Saturday, I won't bet against them again this season.

Big fan of all the other picks, though. Think there's a decent chance that Ohio wins SU.

GL!

Johnnyon the spot and Morris... I know the "go against the ranked dog on the road".It is a system that is pretty solid.
But if you look at their past 4 games vs each other another system goes into effect

Date Home Away Line ATS
1/22/2003 Syr. 83 Seton H. 65 -10/N Syr. /-
1/8/2003 Seton H. 66 Syr. 70 3.5/144.5 Syr. /U
2/21/2002 Seton H. 71 Syr. 73 -1/138 Syr. /O
1/8/2002 Syr. 85 Seton H. 70 -10/N Syr. /-
2/10/2001 Syr. 63 Seton H. 62 -7/143 Seton H. /U

I believe Cuse covered 4-1 ats. Cuse is 2-1 ats away but Hall is 5-1 ats at home.

capers.I read your post.Your right about Forth. He has taken so much abuse from the dome fans. But his play has improved.Jimmy Boe doesn't need him scoring a lot.His defense and rebounding are his strengths.Maybe get 6-8 pts on offense. and Caper, your right about North Texas. They couldn't put away Fl Int..I think Johnson had 3 pts.

And I loved what Wainwright at Richmond did on Sat to Temple.Richmond was +5 or 6 and beat Temple outright. He ran a box and one on Collins of Temple.Took him right out of the game for a road win.

Box- Hope you are enjoying the 'heatwave' back east. What's amazing about Forth is he played well as a frosh, then was a complete stiff last season. McNeil was such a key factor for them playing center late in the season and on their championship run...but now that Forth has improved so much in the offseason, McNeil barely gets any PT now.
