not the new movie coming out soon...the original.....

was one of the scarier movies i`ve ever seen....the mood it sets is really tense......and it has some people some might recognize...margot kidder,john saxon,olivia hussey,andrea martin(from the old sctv comedy show)....and keir dullea,who always played a sinister psychopath.....

if you like a well done scary thriller type movie...with atmosphere....try and get a copy....it was made in the mid-to-late 70`s....and you never see it on cable or t.v...

the snow....a semi-abandoned sorority house at winter break....the phone calls from the psychopath are so weird....

and a sort of a twist ending...

well worth seeing...a really good flick..

You might find it under the title Stranger In The House ... I agree that it is one of the freakier and scarier movies to watch. As a kid, it scared the chit out of me. I taped it years ago on HBO or the old Prism or something so I have a copy but I have never seen it on DVD.

I thought Stranger in the House was the movie about the baby sitter and the psycho path who says "Have you checked the children?"

Are you guys talking about the same movie???

I love horror, but the "Hostel" type of horror to me is a waste of money. Suspense/thriller without all the blood are the best horror.

lightning`s got it....that`s it......it was also called "silent night,deadly night" or something.....

i taped it off cable years ago...it was on once....never saw it again...

dad,...no,nothing like hostel.....hostel`s sheer brutality....this is atmospheric.....

genuinely creepy,imo....

it might be canadian made...i`m not sure...

i was hoping that with the new black christmas movie coming out,one of the cable networks might throw us a bone and show the original.....

i`m not holding my breath...

my copy isn`t as sharp as i`d like it to be....i may order the dvd...

Now what the heck movie am I thinking of??? They just had a remake this past year.
