$25 billion

That's how much Research In Motion, the BlackBerry maker, might be worth in a buyout, according to Morgan Keegan. Using the same multiple of revenue that Google paid for Motorola Mobility, RIM - which holds valuable patents for smart phones - could go for $47 per share, the investment bank says. On Friday, RIM shares rose 3.6 percent to $26.69 on the report. Stewart Capital says possible buyers may include Samsung and Microsoft.

The vice president, on his second day of a nine-day trip to Asia, told Premier Wen Jiabao that the Chinese government - the biggest foreign holder of U.S. debt at $1.17 trillion - has nothing to worry about when it comes to Treasurys. Biden and Wen both expressed confidence in the U.S. economy, with Wen saying its stability "is in the interest of the whole world."

I made a small play on this very same idea a little while back--but opted for Nokia over Rimm as Nokia already in bed with Microsoft--and paying 8% dividend while one waits....

Rim looks cheap, though I do not own it, want to see it go on a run, maybe a good earnings, revenue quarter, that beats estimates.

have been watching it around 55, and has fallen, the stock is very cheap, if the new products can maintain market share the stock should rebound.

one patent play is wilan listed in cdn. and now the US, this stock is patent holding company, went from 3-10, now back to 6.50 cdn. so volatile.

they are looking at taking over Mossaid another patent player, they might have made $1 a share in 2012. not sure if they will increase their offer for Mosaid. will have to if they want the company...so will wait but do believe it is also getting cheap.

patent plays can sell off sharply in weak markets.ie. wilan.

thanks
