Blackhawk Chopper Down

MSNBC reported another Blackhawk down. Didn't say how but it seems these birds suffer a myriad of problems here and abroad. I know they do the job but they also lose alot to mechanical problems. I don't know why they can't get the problems solved but a lot of lives are lost in these crashes.

yep, screws with the hydraulic system. you would think we'd remember that lesson from the ill-fated iranian hostage rescue mission.

although the blackhawk & Apache can be extremely effective, they are very vulnerable to mechanical & pilot error. As mentioned sand is a incredible hindrance. Also they are extremely hard to fly. Although very effective & usually well armed, in combat they are quite vulnerable. If either blade is hit with a rpg they are coming down plain & simple.
