BLUE JAYS/DIAMONDBACKS Over 9.5 -115 ? This is Carpenter?s first start back off of the Disabled List, a fact which usually favors the Over. Carpenter was terrible in his first 2 starts in April, allowing 9 earned runs in only 5.1 innings. I am sure that his injury probably had something to do with those performances, but this looks like a tough spot to make his return. Arizona is averaging nearly 6 runs per game at home this season, with a home team batting average of .294. Also, they have hit .284 vs. right-handed pitchers in their last 10 games, an improvement over their season?s average of .268 vs. righties. Any Diamondbacks pitcher not named Johnson or Schilling has been a bit of a risk this season, and Batista is no exception, with his 4.66 ERA. He has been even worse in his last 3 starts, posting a 5.40 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP. The Over is 7-3 in all of Batista?s starts this season and 24-11 in all Arizona home games.
