How else can you explain a manager that removes Randy Johnson or basically anyone else with two outs in the bottom of the eigth only to bring in a guy to intentionally walk the bases loaded? And the guy he brings in has an ERA of 10.38 with opponents hitting .432 against him? What was he thinking? this type of decision making cannot be justified on any level. The only possible explanation is that Brenly is simply an idiot. Or am I missing something? I don't imagine the Big Unit was too happy with this outcome either. I don't quarrel with removing Johnson, but you have to have somebody better than Prinz in the pen.

I couldn't agree with you more. I knew somehow Arizona was going to lose after not getting any runs in the top half.

Brenly just blows, especially at Yankee Stadium

I bought a couple shares at wsex of Arizona as a dog early in the game and should've cashed them in

leave the unit in there. let him lose it, not some choking piece of crap

In General I disagree with your charactoristic of Brenely! But not on this case. As an avid D-back fan in Phoenix I easily predicted the outcome as soon as I saw Prinz coming in! He damn near let a run in on a wild pitch while intentionally walking Ventura.

Brenely keeps going to him, and he keeps losing games! He was sent to AAA for awhile and its obvious he just doesn't have it!

Unbeleivable the Bob decides to "try to give the kid some confidnece" in that situation!

Red,

As soon as Prinz came in, a buddy of mine gave me a call and we both said at the same time that the game was over. . . I don't udnerstand why Brenly felt he was in the position to take a chance like that. Lost all three games in New York in the World Series and now he took it for granted that we wouldn't have a problem pulling this game out? Johnson was more than ready to finish that inning off and I'm sure he was very pissed at the outcome. . . wouldn't be surprised if Brenly NEVER pulls that crap again when Johnson puts his foot down.

although not as bad as raz, this game killed me, (2200 swing). Mags made many valid points, being a Boston Fan I got a good look at Arizona this weekend. Much better club than I thought .
That said, Brenley burned Kim all 3 weekend games against Boston. Only in the Pedro Schillingmatchup was Kim needed. Certainly Sunday he wasn't with a 4 run lead.

I haven't seen anyone mentioned the perfect double play ball Posada hit to 3rd, obviously Donnells isn't a 3rd basemen.

Johnson had thrown 130 + pitches 2 straight outings, he is your franchise, and I hear his back is a lot worse than advertised. You can possibly see lifting him, but definitely not for Priz! This guy was brought in 2 face Coomer, and Yankees countered with Ventura, in my opinion the move is then Mike Myers, the guy looked awesome against lefty' s at Fenway.

You could see Prinz was nervous as Hell just throwing the intentional walk, why let him continue??

I can't see any way around it, Brenley blew this game terribly, and made poor decisions before this Series even started in Boston. Obviously a terrible beat, Yankees score all runs on homers, including one from some guy even most fans have never heard of! Why then did we play Arizona?? Because the unit was -155! It was the right play, at least that's what I keep telling myself:shrug:

good luck tonight
