BYU +7.5 - While I have the utmost respect for the explosive Boise State offense, I feel that this is a treacherous spot for them, giving more than a touchdown on the road in a high-profile non-conference game. Besides, the Broncos 77-point eruption last week should be taken with a grain of salt, as it did come vs. a defenseless San Jose State team. They will face much more resistance this week, as this BYU defense is much improved over recent seasons. The Cougars are allowing a respectable 24.9 points per game, a figure that would be even better if not for one terrible performance vs. Colorado State in which they surrendered 58 points. It is not very often that you can get BYU as a home underdog either, as they have not been puppies at home since 2000, when they upset Utah State 34-18 as 19 ? point dogs. Boise has been dynamite ATS when they play in conference, but they have not been as successful in non-conference affairs, especially on the road where they are just 9-10-1 ATS. They are 1-2 ATS out of conference this year, and in the one game that they did cover, they lost S/U at Oregon State. I look for an inspired performance from a sky-high BYU team tonight to keep this game within a field goal.
