Disappointed John Paxson disciplines Chris Duhon

March 10, 2008
BY JOHN JACKSON jjackson@suntimes.com

Bulls general manager John Paxson disciplined Chris Duhon today for Duhon's actions over the weekend.

Duhon was benched during Sunday's loss at Detroit after missing the morning shoot-around. Duhon, a Duke product who attended his alma mater's game against North Carolina on Saturday night, flew to Detroit late and said his hotel wake-up service didn't work and caused him to miss the shoot-around.

??I did meet with Chris,'' Paxson said. ??We obviously talked it out, Obviously when things go badly they go badly. I'm disappointed in what happened in the last couple of weeks, but ... I've dealt with it the way I feel was right and we'll move on from there.

??I expect our guys to remain professional and understand the bigger picture. I've given some discipline there and that's where it ends and we'll move forward.''

Duhon later was interviewed on WMVP-AM (1000) and he said he didn't expect to return to the Bulls next season.

??I probably won't be back. I don't know what the summer has for me,'' Duhon said on the station.

Paxson was asked if Duhon was faced further discipline.

We've talked about that,'' he said. ??He told me he was frustrated. It was handled.''

What may have been most distressing to the Bulls was Duhon's reaction after Sunday's game.

??I don't play anyway, so it doesn't have that much of an effect on me,'' Duhon said.

Unfortunately, Duhon isn't the only player on the team who has exhibited questionable professionalism of late. All you had to do was look at the bench in the final seconds of Sunday's game to see the players laughing it up. Obviously loss No. 38 didn't matter much to them.

off local radio....

Paxson just fined him AGAIN for his comments about playing time
