It is very curios to me why Boston covers not only the three games they win but backdoors both of thier losses.Trust me,I'm 54 years old and have been following "the number" for 30 years and I can't remember anything like this happening before,the team with the #1 record in the NBA covering every game in a series that isn't a sweep.This series is 2-3 and the lakers are 0-5 ATS.Is the trend your friend,or are we being set up for back to back road covers by LA after their backers are now on the virge of giving it up.Don't laugh,that 24 point comeback was no more unlikely in my mind.I've hit the total in each game this series and have only thrown money away on the Lakers once so far,the infamous game 4 meltdown.Tomarrows game will go under the 192,thats a play I'm making for sure.But can someone explain why its to the oddsmakers advantage to have Boston cover every game?La eats 9-,7- and 6- openers at home and the mighty Celts are -3-,-2,and -4 opening in their three at home.Why not just make Boston home dogs by say 10,12 points in games 6 and 7?The Lakers haven't played better than than the oddsmakers expectations in 5 straight games.they are long overdue for a game(or two) where everything goes right for them.

I don't think the lines are just set per ability of teams to win or lose by a certain amount. I would think the Lakers were expected to do better and the money was also expected to be on the Lakers. Lines were set. Lines in any playoff series generally don't vary much later in the round regardless of how the series plays out. I think the oddsmakers look solely at each game and set the lines. I doubt they think about Boston being 5-0 ATS.

Rusty-My point is that making Boston 4 point favs as an opener is such a small number it is inducing Boston money(the line has gone to 4- now) in a series that they've not failed to cover in.Why was LA a 6- point opener down 3-1?Because everyone knew they'd win the game and they just anticipated the cover would come as well.The same thoery applies tonight,the Celts are assummed to be the winner and everyone anticipates the cover will come along with it.The big red herring is that the team trying to close out hasn't failed to cover once in a FIVE GAME SERIES!Opening them at 4 is in my mind ALMOST the equivalent of making them a 10-12 point dog at home,its an absurdly low number based on the performances of these two teams series to date.If La wins a game by a point its a big upset,I am by no means predicting a 10-12 point win by LA.

I really don't think the linesmakers ever intend to motivate money to go one way or the other. They set the line for a million reasons, IMO that is not one of them.
All this is "your" read on the line, which could just as well be dead on.
Everybody looks at Vegas linesmakers differently. Then there are those that think EVERY game is fixed or has some international conspiracy behind it's outcome.

I dont know if you are saving the environment or rooting on the C's but IMO the line is set this way because ever since the Lakers made the finals the world had them to beat Boston easily.....and even after Boston showed the bettor they are the BETTER team bettors only did suspected things and played L.A. to cover or win every game since.....Ive been saying ALONG WITH I.O.(yourself) that Boston wins this series.....in how many :shrug: but I think with the crowd PUMPED TONIGHT and Boston KNOWING they had the Lakers where they wanted them down 3-1 they wont let this go to game 7 IMO!!!!! Look for Garnett to DOMINATE down low and if Perkins is playable the rebound advantage shifts back to BOSTON and the wins come by anything from 6-10pts........FAKERS ARE WHAT THEY ARE.....GOOD BUT YOUNG, THEY WILL ARRIVE NEXT YEAR, VETERANS PULL IT TOGETHER TONIGHT AND GIVING THE STAGE BEING SET, at HOME #17 being HOISTED IN REDS HOUSE LOOK FOR MONSTEROUS PERFORMANCES!!!!!!
