Buffalo(-7)(-103) over Charlotte (1*)
- - I heard Charlotte HC Will Healy on the Jim Rome Show, and came away impressed enough to put down a winning wager on their last game against Old Dominion, and with an open eye toward their potential in their Bowl game; when they drew an opponent from the smelly MAC, it seemed a perfect fit to the narrative. But after giving this game as much capping and deliberation as I'm likely to invest in any Bowl game this season, I just can't go against Buffalo in this game.

Charlotte(+220)
- - For the first time I am going to put down a small ML wager on the dog in every Bowl game. I will be tracking the results as a matter of interest, but not for my record.

2019-2020 Bowl Season: 5-2 (+2.80*)

Penn State(-7) over Memphis (1*)
- -

Notre Dame(-3)(-125) over Iowa State (1*)
- - A 10-2 Notre Dame team against a 7-5 Iowa State team has to be one of the ten oddest Bowl matchups I can remember, easily. We know how Bowl games can skew to the dog, and Iowa State is definitely motivated here, but I truly never looked at these two squads as playing on the same plane at any moment during the season.

Clemson(-2') over Ohio State (1*)
- - On the negative side, I don't particularly like the fact that Ohio State is well seasoned from a run of playing highly ranked teams (although none in the same league as Clemson) while Clemson I believe has played only one ranked team all season . . . Nevertheless, up until about three games ago I was liking Ohio State to win it all, but that's about when I started looking at Clemson as the team to beat, and then after closely watching all of the games of these two teams since then, my appetite has grown for liking Clemson in this one.

^ ^ ^ Sounds like we both had a great day. ^ ^ ^

2019-2020 Bowl Season: 9-2 (+6.80*)

I was doing family Christmas stuff all day and I never saw a snap of any game, and still haven't seen a single highlight from the day.

I am in on LSU(-5'). And Mississippi State (-4'). I hope you concur, smax. Happy New Year!

Mississippi State(-4') over Louisville (1*)
- - "UL has recovered from last season, but I think they've shown they have a ways to go." . . . On point with my capping of this game.

Florida(-14') over Virginia (1*)
- - Virginia has definitely been a bit of a disappointment this season, certainly on defense, while IMO, HC Dan Mullen has been nothing short of terrific in both his seasons at Florida, even more impressive this year, a new Gators identity as consistently prepared and efficient, and I expect those story lines to be confirmed under the bright lights of the Orange Bowl.

Arizona State(-4) over Florida State (1*)

Kansas State(+3) over Navy (1*)
- - KState HC Chris Klieman knew how to push the right buttons in the postseason during his runs at North Dakota State . . . It never hurts to have a full month to prepare for an option attack.

Texas(+7) over Utah (1*)
- - Texas was gutted by injuries during much of the season and will get a fresh start to finish this season. Utah has to be the on a very short list of the most disappointed Bowl participants after being on the cusp of playing for the national championship before their last game.

Auburn(-7) over Minnesota (1*)
- - Really tough SEC test for an overachieving Minnesota team that down the stretch sprung a few inevitable leaks. I couldn't trust Phil Fleck and Minnesota in this spot even if I was inclined to do so.

Michigan(+7') over Alabama (1*)
- - The Michigan team that played Army at the start of the season was shocking. They got pretty good, nothing great, and really, really want to further build the program in this game, but they could be outclassed if Alabama is surprisingly motivated.

Cincinnati(-7') over Boston College (1*)
- - When the Bowl schedule came out, after a cursory look, I was fairly confident I would be having plays on the following teams: LSU, Notre Dame, Washington, Iowa, Cincinnati, Oregon, Penn State and Texas, in about that order. So, I might be due to have that run busted up.
- - I came away very impressed on my first viewing of HC Luke Fickell?s 2019 Cinci squad when taking down UCF in October. The Bearcats have stayed very much on my radar since then, although I only recall wagers late in the season, when I backed them but they failed to cover against Temple, then bet against them when they covered at Memphis in their last regular season game, and backed them the following week when they covered in their rematch with Memphis . . . For those that haven't taken a very close look at this game, the weather is looking nasty, BC had their Bowl game cancelled last year after leading 7-0 in the first quarter, BC fired their HC Steve Addazio on 12/1 after seven years, and BC RB A.J. Dillon is sitting out this game . . . I have liked everything fundamental about this Cinci team that I have been following closely for months, and notwithstanding any initial disappointment over their Bowl assignment, my cash says Fickell will have his veteran team ready to ball today with an effort and display that emphatically averts the gut punch of closing with three straight losses, tough conditions only adding to my expectations.
