I'm really really trying not to be a homer, but I just can't help it;)

The Iowa Hawkeyes are a first half team...plain and simple.
All year they have gotten a lead in the first half and justed played to win in the second half. I know about the layoff, and I just don't see it being a factor on offense and defense (notice I didn't mention special teams). Ferentz will have this team ready to play, there is no doubt in my mind. In my homer opinion the only way Iowa losses this game is if they get caught sitting on a lead in the second half and get burnt.....

Sooo the homer play of the day is Iowa +3 First Half :eek:

Good luck with whatever you play, but I think this is a very solid play - with special teams for Iowa being the wild card in the first half. This team probably hasn't run a full speed, full contact punt or kickoff return is six weeks - thats my only concern...

With a grain of salt as my hawks have missed so many opportunities...

I think I'll sit back and just try to enjoy the second half

2-0 +4units for bowl games..

Correct Mama...I can' sit still....my wife kinda frowned at me when I threw the remote at the wall and broke it into several hundred pieces after the last couple plays of the half...Oh well, just another remote:rolleyes:

not too easy to *enjoy* the game when they are playing their worst game of the season thus far :( ....... gotta be happy they escaped the first half in a tie tho. Hopefully Brad will get his poop in a group at halftime, and come back out showing what he is capable of.

(tell your wife no biggie on the remote...universals are only about $6 these days, and you'll forfeit a 6 pack to buy her a new one ;) )

enjoy the 2nd half yourself, and GO HAWKEYES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whats your thoughts for the second half...I just hate the blown chances, I hate to say it but when you get to the two yard line twice and come away with only 3 points it comes back to bite you in the ass almost everytime:shrug:

Lets hope this time is different:confused:

My mind says bet USC in the second half but my heart won't let me:nono:

I think I'll just watch...

LOL, Mike..... i woke up at 7:00 and felt fine, took a shower and the hangover kicked in full force....LOL.......... went back to bed until 8, got up and took my aunt to breakfast, went back to dads house and loaded the trailer and car, and then drove, drove, and drove :( ........ was HELL on wheels......kids singing, trailer rattling, and headache pounding!!!! but yeah, made it back to MN just fine other than that....LOL (i DO resent you calling it making it HOME tho.......i WAS home, and had to come back to HELL........ ;) )

how long did you guys stay at Boozies??

same thoughts-- I'd bet USC 2nd half if I could-- but I can't...LOL.

Only hope I think is to stop them on the opening drive and put together a nice 5-6 minute long drive for a TD. I had Iowa +2.5 1st half, under 57 for game, Iowa +4.5 for game. Could still go 3-0 even if Iowa loses......
