I may only play 2 games this long weekend, a nice sized play for the Blue-Grey over yesterday and Bowling Green today. I have been looking for reasons to go with the dog, but from my perspectus, I can't find many. The only thing that sticks out for NW is the extra time they had to prepare & fix their sorry ass defense.
Bowling Green presents a much more balanced team and additionally the dual threats of Senior Josh Harris, (59 yards per game rushing, 264 per game passing) a very productive college QB. He has played NW before, orchestrating a 43-42 upset at that time in 2001. He passed for 3 scores and over 400 yards & ran for 2 more TD in that game. As a team, Bowling Green has had a fine MAC season. (Except the 2 MIAMI, O games). They have proved they can stick with the upper echelon of the Big 10 by going to Purdue in week 2 and whacking them and then travelling to Ohio St. a couple of weeks later, hanging tough in only a 7 pt. loss. I do not consider NW in their category.
On the other side of the stripe is NW. They are only 6-6 and are below the break even mark in points as they have been outscored by 59 by their opponents this season. They have also been outgained by their opposition by over 40 yards per game on the average. Their defense, as most of us have conceeded already, is poor. Their tailback, Wright, is formiddable, with 19 TD for the year, but my guess is that BG will seek out their one dimension & contain him...........all they should have to do to against the Wildcats to control the game.
I could go on a bit, but most of it has been in other posts already.............so, GL & Hit It At Least One Time THE HITMAN
