El Duque -6.5 over LaSalle *****
Dukies are around .500 and were almost into Feb.They beat XU in a big upset.And beat URI away from home.Look out,here come the li'l dukies.
Palmer is there 6'7 star.Avg 14 pts 6 bds and has many slam dunks.Balanced scoring from MAc,Trillo,Dokes and Higgins off the bench.Higgins is the crowd fav hitting 3's at a 51% clip[20-39]Achara is the 6'9 frosh who really helps off the bench and is their leading shot blocker.Dukies can score,shoot pretty good except from the FT 66%.
Lasalle has Neal and Smith both avg 20 and 15 pts a game.But defense is their problem.They did beat Richmond but lost to Hampton and Lafayette.
I think El Duques problem are ball handling and playing vs Pressure.But lasalle doesn't press.Playing at Palumbo everyone feels this is where El Duques make their move in the A-10.
it's been awhile since their has been any excitment.Knocking off XU and Umass. More depth,home gym,Palmer and Higgans coming of the bench give Dukes a 8-10 pt win.
West Vir +3.5 over the Johnnies *****
Johnnies has so much infighting still going on.In the RU game on sat everyone was all over Hill for not running any plays.He's doing what he wants.Both gds Hill and Ingram have 55 and 44 To's.Out of control layups,forcing shots and passes.Reynolds and Stanley who are inside players can't shoot FT's when they do get fouled.Cuffe still thinks he's playing for a NYC HS team.
No leadership with Clark coaching.No fans support.
In comes Wv whos best player is gone.But 6'11 D'or Fisher is there best player.He has 65 blocked shots and hits the off bds.Beilin and Pittnogle can stick the outside shot.Pitt is 6'10.Herber is a decent pt gd.Sally plays inside and NY state pl of the yr Relph is getting better.He's avg 6 pts a game but is 18-46 from the 3.
Johnnies do play tough defense.
But WV shoots better,scores more pts is a little better on the FT line and has a post player who is 6'11 and could dominate inside on defense.Johnnies can't shoot now so maybe D'or altering those shots could cause them to go in.Hope not..
Sw Mizzou -12.5 over Evansville ***
Aces can't play defense,can't shoot and can't rebound.SW Mizzou is on a roll.Playing at home.Bear Aces by 10 in OT.Tonite they don't need OT.Lyr beat them70-51.In MVC tourney 65-51 and away lyr 73-58.See the same tonite.Aces are 0-9 on the road.
