This one has been in the works for months. Line is virtually the same with Bute a 2-1 chalk. If anything, this most likely goes to the cards, barring an accidental head butt, or some other anomaly. I don't view either of these guys as reckless and it would appear to be a thinking mans bout. I lean toward Bute so far. We'll see what the weights are in a few days. I am not seriously excited about this except for any wagering potential. Same as the probable Andre Ward/Chad Dawson fight. That one may be a drug free cure for insomnia.

Prop play...

Prop play...

Call me Lord of the Lunch, but I do like a draw play here. I see this going rounds, and I envision a very strategic affair, as I think both guys have their moments. Majority draw/split decision draw, whatever.

Bute should be too skilled for Froch, but the site and Butes foot could make it interesting....

Yea, I think Bute will tough out the toe issue. Should be close one. Froch is tough as nails, and truly has a granite chin. But as one scribe stated, Bute is a very good torso terror, and NO ONE has a granite body. A well placed body punch has been known to drop just about anyone. When and if a points prop appears, I say take Froch if it is generous enough.

Anybody like Jackiewicz? -170 type number available for his fight against Abis, a rematch of a fight back in 2009. That fight was in Poland but he did win by what appears to be a clear UD. I know this fight is in Abis's backyard so big red flag there but I'm not sure that is enough to keep the line this tight.

Jackiewicz looks like he's one class better than Abis. Not to mention Abis was dropped like a sack of a potatoes in his last fight at home against a 9-18 fighter. Footage of that available on youtube, legit stuff as he was hurt bad. Also noticed he was dropped against Bundu earlier in his career in the first round as well before a premature stoppage for cuts ended that fight as a draw.

Wouldn't mind a line on Jackiewicz inside but alas nowhere to be found. Anyways think its a decent bet at -170.

I think Bute is an incredibly skilled fighter but this will be the first time he walks into a hostile environment

I personally wonder how he will react to that in concert with the type of pressure that I expect Froch to put on him

If Froch loses, it will not be due to lack of effort

Froch +180 (double pop)
Froch Inside Distance +600 (half pop)

Trying the fight NOT to go the distance. Froch's only hope is to make this a war. And at home I think he'll be spurred on to try to make this a reality. And if leather flies with intent I think both are vulnerable. Bute we all know has question marks about his chin and while Froch can take a punch to the face I wonder about his durability to the body. And Bute is an excellent body puncher.

Found +170 on this bet.

Froch down to +150 at most spots and if you were watching Sky you would understand why

English broadcasts are delusional. The bias to hometown fighters is second to none.

Froch is down to a punchers chance every time he gets in with good competition. Of course at home he also has the robbery option so maybe it won't take a ko, just keeping the rounds close might do.

Most bizarre "entrance" ever for Froch

He has just been standing on a stage now for like 10 minutes

Bute needs to retire, durability against his first decent foe was deplorable.

Showed courage to go another round or two but apart from that he was pathetic. Will be an easy bet if they actually exercise the rematch clause.

Man, was I ever off base on this one. After seeing Bute drop Andrade with a body shot, I figured he had some serious pop. WHEW!

I must say I'm mildly shocked by what happend in the Bute fight!

I expected Bute to win, a win for Froch wouldnt have shocked me, but the nature of the win was really a big surprise. He outboxed Bute from the beginning and hurt him at will after round 2!

And I dont consider Bute's resume and his accomplishments as bad.

He was arguably more dominant against Johnson and Bika than Froch, Ward and Calzaghe respecitvely, and yet he got absolutely destroyed by Froch...

oh, and BTW, Miranda, Bika, Johson, Berrio and Andrade are all decent punchers, and Bute has never shown a chin problem (with the obvious exception of his late round meltdown against Andrade, when he totally ran out of gas)...
