From now until the end of the season, I will post a "Break the Book" play on a frequent basis. This play, in my opinion, will give us the best chance to cash a winning ticket. It will be thoroughly researched from every angle possible. I won't assign a unit amount or rating next to it. I will leave the dirty work up to you. Just know that I will be putting the same amount of money on each one of these plays.

Early play > Falcons -9.5

In the NFL, show me a team that's going to win, and I'll show you a team that's going to cover approximately 75%-80% of the time. Atlanta is one team early today.

The Falcons are coming off an embarassing loss to Tampa Bay, and a win today over Seattle, coupled with a Giants loss to Dallas, will guarantee the Falcons their first playoff berth since 1998. In addition, Atlanta still has an outside chance of winning its division.

Atlanta has scored 62 more points offensively than Seattle, and it has allowed 62 fewer points defensively. The Seahawks rank #28 in the league defensively. When you get a chance, check out the Seahawks' injury report for today's game. This team is decimated by injuries! Hasselbeck will probably get the start at quarterback, but Jeff George is ready to make his first start if Hasselbeck can't go, or is he? This quote from Jeff George:

"Hopefully, he'll (Hasselbeck) be able to play," George said. "That would be the best thing for this team. I've been around the league quite a while. And, fortunately, I've played in a lot of offenses. If my number's called, that's what I was brought here to do."

It doesn't sound like George has a lot of confidence going into this game.

You want trends to support a play on Atlanta? Here are a few key trends that I found:

Atlanta is 5-1 ATS coming off divisional game
Atlanta is 7-2 ATS last 9
Atlanta is 9-4 ATS overall

Against the last 4 losing teams the Falcons have played, they have put up at least 30 points. Seattle is 7-42 ATS since 1980 when allowing 24 or more points following a loss.

Good luck with your plays today! I will probably be back later with another play.

You're right, Seattle did come to play today. That's how it goes sometimes. Time to get it back!

Denver is 10-2 ATS off a road loss
Denver is 28-2 SU and 20-7 ATS at home against teams off back-to-back wins

Good luck guys!
