Initially I was excited about Kelly! Second most
Wins amongst active coaches. He has a track record of repairing broken programs. He built Cincinatti in to a national power, fixed a broken Irish program. He make bad hire after bad hire

Detractors. Interestingly enough, I ran into Brian Kelly two years ago at a Buckys in Alabama and I asked him why we were getting our butt kicked in the transfer portal. He said “ you don’t build it through the portal you use it to support your roster. If you build it through the portal you have a bunch of mercenaries! This year he was told to that he would be using the portal to weapon” overhaul” the roster. We paid a ton of mediocre payers and just as he predicted we fell apart! It’s

Look at Indiana, Vanderbilt, and Missouri. It's risky but you don't have to have a big-name hire. Just got to do your homework, be willing to take a chance, and maybe get a little lucky.

LSU AD GONE!!!

LSU and athletic director Scott Woodward finalized his separation from the school Thursday night, one day after Gov. Jeff Landry said Woodward would not be the one to hire the replacement for coach Brian Kelly.

LSU confirmed that Woodward and the school agreed to part ways effective immediately. Longtime LSU athletic official Verge Ausberry will serve as the interim athletic director as the school nears the end of its search for a new president and looks for a new head football coach.

Woodward was at Texas am for the Jimbo buyout and the Kelly buyout. He is the AD responsible for the 2 biggest buyouts in college football history. Woodward is a lsu guy and loves lsu I feel bad for him but I think they should gut the program

Portal is by far the lowest of all power 5
Schools.
LSU spent 3rd most in NIl last year and played pBaylor in a crappy bowl game. This year
LSU spends 18 million in the portal and we lose 3. The entire player personnel department is TRASH

The entire LSU athletic situation is a clusterfuck IMO!! You hire a guy to turn around a progrum that had invested tons of $$$ in Jimbo, he buys him out, you hire B Kelly out of all the choices out there, who's never won a Natty with anyone, you let go a cajun in Orgasm'eron, you have some of the best talent within the state, tho many of the better athletes couldn't gradumate from pre-school, this entire progrum is a case to not even go there and coach, it would be a job for someone who wants a large contract for 10 plus years and full transparency.

Key wouldn't go to LSU no matter what!! He played at GT, was a big booster for GT and the kids from the State of Georgia love him.

Lea? Really? He's as good as the portal allowed at Vandy with all the lower grade athletes getting in by exemptions and he has a good staff of former head coaches, including Kill, Beck, Gregory and LePak.

Kelvin Sheppard? Really? Fuck that!! An NFL coach coming in and turning this progrum around? Nick Saban yes, Sheppard? Give me a break

Joe Brady? He coached at LSU, he's got a decent offensive track record, but why hasn't he landed a Head Coach job yet? Is he over pricing himself or is he just a pussy and wants to be second fiddle to a Head Coach?

Marcus Freeman? You have to be out of your mind!! The Catholics will pay to keep him!! LSU can try all they want to throw the $$$ around, but that ain't happening!!

LSU gets rid of their AD, the Board was going to be the ones who made the decision to bring in the new HC for the football progrum, the AD sees what's happening finally, he leaves with a large buyout for him too, what a fucking gripper, then the interim AD now has full leverage to hire the new HC for this progrum? It smells bad, really fucking bad and it's not rotten alligators down in Bat-TON-rooj!!

For me the best Head Coaches not mentioned too heavily, even the rumor mill guys, are coaches who are not coaching right now and with this mess with the portal stuff with NIL on top of that, no ones wants a part of it and they have being on gamedays on the major networks including ESPN.

Sumrall from Tulane is a good candidate, but he's as good as his QBs are, he's scared off talent and brings in talent at the same time, he's a heckyl meets jeckyl guy. Matt Ruhle just signed an extension with the Bugeaters, he has ties in Pennsylvania, his track record is not winning the big games that matter, he does improve the culture and his teams win after 3 years, but those teams haven't won natty's!! He couldn't even coach in the NFL and got a fatty contract, the owner for the Panthers is a gripper too.

If you want to get into Natty talk, hire James Franklin, he's a preacher, teacher, he can bring in talent, the talent has improved, he just can't find QBs, but allow him to bring in some gifted coaches like Brady or some other up and coming OC's and DC's and LSU will be in talk for the Top 10 for years. Penn State was a fucking mess when Franklin came in after the Sandusky scandal etc. He would clean up any mess that B Kelly brought into the progrum and would get natty backing from top HS recruits nationwide, not only from the state of Lose-eee-annah!! He could also bring in some top talent from the Natty JUCOs from Kansas, Misses-ippy. He's my #1 choice for LSU. Next one would be, and he's at UNLV right now, would be Mullen. He can recruit, he makes an immediate impact and he was run out of Gainesville by a fucked up AD there!! He knows the game, he has backing from a lot of top tier powerful football people and young coaches would thrive under him as well as former head coaches.

Those are my only 2 I'd consider if I was the interim AD at LSU to hire someone!! And it ain't gonna happen in season! This will all happen after the CFP selection committee and final teams are announced!! If LSU hires anyone before that time before the Final 8, 4, Natty Chump-yenn-ship, they're a lame duck coach!!
