Gotta use the term "student athlete" pretty loosely with some of these idiots don't you? You have three fouls and decide to commit your 4th with 13 minutes to go in the game, 75 feet from the basket. Lovely. I've never understood why NCAA coaches even have their players in in situations like that. Shouldn't they be on the bench until, at the soonest, the 10 minute mark?!

I have to agree w/you but with the head coach shuffling players in and out and working on different stratgies it's up to the stupid azz asst coaches to pull Worthy aside and say hey kid you have three fouls....move your feet on defense, don't reach and play good straight up basketball. Boxs out ond don't go over the back....I bet the asst. coaches didn't say a damn thing. But I could be wrong with today's athletes....not many coaches have taught them the fundamentals and the players think they are Gods. GL w/ Ur playes Glenn

I think fundamentals went out the window in both NCAA and pro hoops in about 1985. It's really hard for me to watch games sometimes. Nobody boxes out, no one denies the passing lane, guys can't make free throws. And the worst part is that coaches never hold players accountable anymore. I remember once a loooooong time ago in the first quarter of a game I didn't box out a guy on a missed free throw and my guy got the put back bucket. My coach yanked me out of the game, got up in my face and scared the living hell out of me. He also left me out the rest of the game. It sure as hell taught me a lesson though. Too bad more coaches don't have the balls to do that today...
