Anyone have a broadband card for laptop and desktop access? Sprint or Verizon or something else? Have you noticed any slow down in speed? Are you happy with it overall?

If I make the switch from cable to dish, I lose my current ISP, so I am looking at one of these cards....

You will notice the difference immediately if you are currently directly plugged into the cable box or router.

If you are using wireless, there will stilla difference but not as major. When I used my broadband card, certain areas I had amazing speed and others it was as slow as the old 56k modems.

I would never use the broadband card as my only connection but it is a very nice thing to have during any outages or while traveling.

I would recommend Verizon, although AT&T has supposedly upped their game. If you do go with Verizon, make sure it's one of the new cards (usually rev. A) and it's 3G capable.

I get a Verizon Card with my current job. While in Louisiana and using a 3G card, the speeds were very impressive, even in the sticks.

I'm now in Michigan with an earlier card and the speeds leave a lot to be desired. My 3G capable RAZR2 is faster. Hell, even the wireless at the local Super 8 motel is faster.
