BROWNS/PACKERS Under 38 ? The Packers came back to beat a bad Arizona team 29-21 last week, but much of the offensive damage was done in the second half by the Green Bay reserves. The starting unit managed just 1 touchdown in the first half, as Favre completed only 9 of his 17 passes. I expect the starters to struggle again vs. this very good Cleveland defense, which will be even better tonight with the seasonal debut of Pro Bowl caliber middle linebacker Earl Holmes. Also, the Browns will look to make an impression in a rare nationally televised game. Since the backbone of this team is its defense, expect the defensive starters to play a little longer than usual. The Browns have actually looked good on offense this pre season, averaging 25.5 points per game. However, those games came vs. Minnesota and Detroit, a couple of bottom of the barrel defenses. Also, the Browns want to take a long look at running backs William Green and Jamel White, as the starting job is still up for grabs. This means that more running plays will be called, which is always good for the Under.
