Browns signed QB Charlie Whitehurst.

The Browns have already lost QBs Robert Griffin III and Josh McCown to left shoulder injuries the first two weeks of the season, leaving third-round rookie Cody Kessler as the Week 3 starter. He's nowhere close to being NFL-ready, so it's not out of the question Whitehurst could start as soon as Week 4.

Corey Coleman suffered a broken hand at Wednesday's practice.

One of Coleman's teammates came down on his hand after making a catch. The injury occurred at the portion of practice that was closed to the media so details are scarce. More will be known when Coleman visits a hand specialist on Thursday. Coleman needs his hand to catch footballs so it's fair to assume he'll be facing a lengthy absence. Coming off a breakout game in Week 2 (104 yards, 2 TDs), it's a shame to see Coleman go down after such a promising start.
