John Grahame, Bos. (26)
Winchester native Jay Pandolfo scored the only goal of the game just before the first intermission. The Bruins dominated the Devils in shots (33-27) and faceoffs won (32-24), but couldn't get anything past Brodeur. Boston's top line of Joe Thornton, Glen Murray, and Mike Knuble was on the ice for Pandolfo's winner.
Feb. 21 - New Jersey, 3-2
Brodeur, N.J. (30)
Jeff Hackett, Bos. (27)
The Bruins rallied from a 1-0 deficit in the second period on two goals from Thornton, but failed to secure a win, giving up goals to defenseman Jeff Friesen and not-so-offensive forward Jiri Bicek (5 goals this season) in the final frame. Brodeur was up to his old tricks in the third period, turning away 14 shots by the Bruins to preserve the win.

Brodeur (16); Corey Schwab, N.J. (8)
Hackett, Bos. (27)
In a busy second period, the Bruins and Devils scored all of the game's seven goals. Martin Lapointe got a season's worth of offensive frustration off his back, recording a hat trick with rapid-fire goals at 4:45, 8:40, and 10:00 (with a Knuble goal sandwiched in at 9:18). Jozef Stumpel assisted on three goals. Lapointe's third goal chased Brodeur from the game. Late goals in the period by Devils Patrik Elias and Scott Gomez helped convince the fans to stick around for the third period.
April 3 - Tie, 1-1
Brodeur, N.J. (22)
Steve Shields, Bos. (28)
The Devils wasted little time getting a jump on Boston, as Joe Nieuwendyk netted the first goal of the game at 3:36 of the first period, assisted by Jamie Langenbrunner. Thornton got help from Murray to tie the game at 3:57 of the second period. The goaltenders took over in the third period and during a fast-paced overtime - Shields stopped 10 shots over that span, while Brodeur turned away 12 attempts
