I posted this at the start of May, for April's results, but didn't post last month so I'm including May's report cards also.
What's most important, for our purposes, is the current grades.
The grades take into account the following:
win-loss
era
ops
whip
k/bb
save%
Think of the numbers like grades (or %'s, really) that one might get in school; i.e. an 80 is an "A".
team..........thru May.....thru June (current)

white sox......65...............62
yankees........65...............67
A few major changes, like a serious drop-off by the Orioles, and a big improvement by the Royals.
I still need to look at closers a little more. A few clubs are hurting right now, being without a reliable closer (e.g. Rockies, Blue Jays, Orioles, A's, Tigers). I can't really penalize a game for this, though I could adjust these grades somewhat. What I'm really looking for is those clubs that DO have a reliable closer (e.g Mets, Cards, Angels, and even Indians) and to give a bonus for such in games where the starter figures to last 7 or 8 innings.
Take it For What It's Worth.
