This is why we can't put McCain/Bush into the WH.

Because it looks like their boy, John McCain won't make it to the WH, Bush is looking to pass deregulations for businesses. The republicans are the party of deregulation.

A Last Push To Deregulate
White House to Ease Many Rules

The White House is working to enact a wide array of federal regulations, many of which would weaken government rules aimed at protecting consumers and the environment, before President Bush leaves office in January.

The new rules would be among the most controversial deregulatory steps of the Bush era and could be difficult for his successor to undo. Some would ease or lift constraints on private industry, including power plants, mines and farms.

His time to ramrod any bill through congress ended in 2006 when the american people put forth a mandate that rejected Bushs policies by sending a large number of GOP politicans packing. No chance, his haphazard ideas would make it through congress now and he has no goodwill built up with the american public to get behind his ideas. Politicans that have approval ratings around 23% do not have the ability to set the political agenda.
