Hey guys, I'm going to buy a new laptop for my wife, but I'm not sure about which requirements I need to meet in order to get an adequate machine.

FYI - Looking at the dell.com outlet. That's how I got my Inspiron E1505, and I love it.

Processor?

Hard Drive GB?

Memory MB?

I agree, get a mac. Much better for internet and multimedia applications. Unless you want to play poker online or you need WordPerfect, mac is the way to go.

I've had my MacBook for 2 years now and beside the bad battery life it is a great computer still. In that same amount of time I have gone through 3 pcs at work.

Here is what our its people recommend for pcs if you go that route:

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
I agree, get a mac.

Wish I had a Mac :(

I'd love to be using that Safari and Mac operating system...

But this here Dell Inspiron is going superb after 2 years. Be sure to check out the prices at Dell business section--frequent sales there, but can't usually beat the outlet (I told 'em I have a gambling business :SIB )

My geek friends say you should have at least 2 gigs memory for Vista and fast browsing
