i don't think its gonna make to much of a difference

they gain somebody who can still move...they have plenty of outside shooting..

just think they could've gotten more for him

The funny this is the it really dosen't help money wise....... :mj07:

"What is surprising, however, is what the Kings will get from the 76ers in return. None of the three players the Kings receive are as talented as Webber. Each has been struggling this year and all three have long-term contracts equal to the three years, $62 million left on Webber's deal. In other words, this isn't a salary dump by the Kings.

Thomas has five years and $39 million left on his deal, plus a 15 percent trade kicker that will raise his salary higher. Williams has two years and $12.5 million left on his deal. Skinner has one year and $4.9 million left on his contract plus another year at $5.4 million that is 75 percent guaranteed.

Sixers are contenders now. :D First we get T.O. for the E.A.G.L.E.S. Eagles, now Webber too?? Wooohooo. Christmas has come early this year. Hope he doesn't end up being another Big Dogg.

There could easily be another trade in the works. A local reporter on the radio last night said he had a friend in the league office who told him the Kings had submitted the paperwork for this deal and another deal right after it. the friend could not give details on the other deal since it wasn't finalized for some reason. Never know though.

If you think about it, it really was a salary dump in that they had that $60 million over the next 3 yrs tied into a guy with two bad knees (albeit still a great player) who wasn't playing every night, where now they have it spread over 3 guys which is definitely something they can work with.

This will also hoepfully free up some looks from Peja who has been a no-show this year.

In the long run I don't think this deal makes much of a difference. The Kings already had problems with enough shots going around. Bibby, Miller, Mobley and Peja can easily make up for what they lost just by getting more touches.

Don't know the exact stats but the Kings were something like 51-16 w/o Webber the past two years. Barely over .500 when he played. That stat alone could make this trade a good one for the Kings.

As a Giants fan I have come to trust the GM Brian Sabean when he makes big moves because of his track record. I feel just as strong about Petrie and think in the long run his will be a good move.

Loved C-webb though. Instant philly fan here.
