I am looking to equate future and present value of a certain dollar amount on my calculator. I have a TI BAII PLUS which mean sjack shit to me except that I know that it is capable of figuring these amounts.

Two examples:

Future Value:
$2.32 today growing at 22% per year for 10 years.

I know the answer is $16.95 based on me doing the lond math on the calculator.

Using the functions of N, I/Y, PV, and FV -- how would I do this more simply?

Present Value:
$746 in 10 years that grew at 15% each year. What is the present value.

I know the answer is $184, but once again how is this figured on my calculator?

Thanks in advance

While I don't have the calculator in front of me, I beleive

P/V= 2.32
N=10
I/Y =.22

Then I think you hit 2nd or shift and FV. It's something like that if I had the calc in front of me I would know for sure. For the second one it would be the same, just use 746 as FV and find PV. Don't know if that helps or not.
