Not if this don't piss you off add this to it.

Attorneys Feldman and Boyce after taking payment from Westerfield via sales of house ect decided it wasn't enough and somehow (someone explain how this is possible) have billed the taxpayers, state of CA, addition charges that could run into 6 figures.Just how much we might not know because they have filed allegedly 15 page document with CA court not to disclose amount. Again how the fck is that possible.

Obviously this is absurd to the max. I am not an attorney, but maybe Loophole or Eddie could chime in. I believe that in the first place, because this was a capital case, the rules are different. I think attorneys in death penalty cases are allowed to charge above and beyond the defendant's ability to pay. At least in this nut job world of California.

As far as not allowing the taxpayers to know what they were paid, this will probably be disregarded by the California Bar. Then it will go to the State Supreme Court which will bow to the Bar and come up with some ludicrous reason that this is private.

In other cases of this type, the monetary figures were always available to the taxpayers - they foot the bill.

Bigger problems may face Feldman et al. They tried to plea bargain Westerfield's sentence on the condition that he (Westerfield) would tell them where the body was (sounds like an admission of guilt, doesn't it). The State found the body first so that deal was off. Then Feldman, knowing that Westerfield was guilty, tried to implicate one or more other "alleged" killers in his case to the jury.

Again, we need Loophole and/or Eddie to illuminate us on the ethics here. If a lawyer KNOWS his client is guilty, can he attempt to shift the blame to another? I know he is entitled to the best possible defense, but is out and out knowledgble fabrication allowable?
