The 18th-ranked California Golden Bears look to make it five consecutive wins tonight when they visit the struggling UCLA Bruins.

CALIFORNIA are 18-4 SU and 12-8 ATS this season. At 11-2 in the Pac-10 they are trying to keep pace with the rampant Arizona Wildcats. The Bears have won their last four games by an average of 10 points against Washington, Washington St, Oregon and Oregon St.

All-American candidate Joe Shipp leads the Pac-10 in scoring with 20.6 points per game at a very impressive 52.6% clip. The Bears have two other players averaging double-digits in Forward Amit Tamir (16.8 ppg) and guard Brian Wethers (14.4 ppg).

UCLA are just 5-16 SU, 8-13 ATS and 2-10 in conference play this season. They return home tonight following a four game road stint but they are just 2-9 SU at the Pauley Pavilion and are giving up 83 points per game in their last seven. The Bruins have won just one of their last twelve games overall so to be getting a single point tonight against nationally ranked California will not be enough.

Team morale appears to be at an all-time low and following their most recent loss even coach Lavin appears resigned to the fact that he won't be at the helm next season. "The next coach will get the benefit of the doubt," he said to reporters. "If he has one bad season, he won't get fired. He'll get a honeymoon. But the third and fourth years will be tough. (Pittsburgh coach) Ben Howland, (Gonzaga's) Mark Few, (UC Santa Barbara's) Bob Williams, (Kansas') Roy Williams, and (UC Irvine's) Pat Douglass, these are my list of candidates."

A very important stat for tonight's game is the fact that California are a perfect 8-0 ATS on the road this season, while UCLA are an embarrassing 2-9 ATS at home.

While the home team has won the last six games in this series California has covered five of those and has won the last three SU by 11, 5 and 18 points.

Tonight we'll go with the in-form Golden Bears to continue their winning ways.
