I also take shots at big cross sports for low stakes ( 5-20 ) on occasion. Hitting one every so often is cool. I think its stupid to put much more than $5 on one, as they are such longshots. But for a nominal wager they are better than the lotto, and some skill is involved at least. So here's hopin u hit it! What really sucks is when you miss on one by one game ( particularly by the hook ). I've had a couple 8 and 10 teamers for huge odds ( with plenty of $line dogs ) lose by the hook on a hoops game. Some hate going 2-1 on a three teamer, it really blows to go 9-1. But thems the breaks. At least I've hit enough to stay in the black for these "crazy ass" parlays - so I think they are fun. To each his own.

I do almost exactly the same thing. I have my $5 15 or 14 team parlay almost everyday at Olympic. What the hell....it usually pays $100,000 and it's almost fun sometimes. I know a lot of the big time players look down on this sort of thing but who cares? Besides, I think the real odds of hitting these things are much higher than the calculated odds because of the correlated value of totals/sides.....especially in basketball.

The most important thing in gaming is if you miss....miss small....

What I like to call "what the hell" parlays. I don't do them so much in MLB, but on NFL weekends and during NHL, I almost always put $10 on a parlay involving all the games I am taking on that given day. You never know when you'll sweep the board...

I'm in agreement with you guys.

Obviously, if you do this exclusively you deserve the Sportsbetting Dunce Cap.

But, as a fun bet I think the reward is certainly worth the risk (5$).

The internet has made (or should have made) all of us better handicappers.

Even if you lurk and keep track of those 'cappers that do their homework, just parlaying their plays is worth a long shot.

It's probably the weakest of all betting strategies, but if you don't go overboard and do a little homework...you could get lucky.

Well,

It's lunchtime in Phoenix, Arizona now. I adjusted one too many fat ladies this morning and now MY back hurts! What now?

The reason that I posted this parlay today was that I researched baseball and soccer picks and had plays on each of these individual members of the parly. I think that it has SOME chance of hitting. Although, realistically the chance of it truly hitting is a little more than zero.

I have been playing Ray's parlay's for almost a year now. And have been doing quite a number of my own as well. I have been surprised at the number of three, four and five teamers that have actually hit.

Prior to last weekend I had never hit a parlay larger than a five or six teamer. For those of you that may have missed it.. I had an 11 teamer that had two teams push to a winning 9 team ticket. I got lucky.

I have learned to play these very small as a means of adding "value" to my ticket. Obviously, if you play too many of these per day you end up gutting any winnings that you had on your straight plays.

The big ten teamer that I played was at Olympic. I also play parlays on 5 dimes. There I can mix in tennis, golf, soccer and boxing with my other sports plays but am limited to six teams maximum. I played Fletcher's boxing picks along with my regular baseball plays and had about 10 parlays hit... all small but what the hey!

OMG my back hurts. Going to go lie down and rest up for the herd of fat ladies that are coming in at 2:00 PM.
