a strong showing today and a win against ku might be enough to be a #1. however, being the highest rated #2 seed is not a bad deal either,gl.
No, actually the highest rated #2 puts you with the lowest rated #1. That is why it is called an "S" curve.
Sooner victory will get a #1 seed. Texas being beat by an unranked team threw them out of the mix. OU has to win tonight, and regardless of what happens tomorrow, #1 seed thay are!
I honestly think you are smoking crack and are setting yourselves up to be pissed off tomorrow when you are a #2 seed.
Look these conf. tourneys have little weight compared to the regular season. Texas beat you twice, has a better record finished higher in the conf and has a higher RPI. I'd say it's already a done deal that you are a #2 seed.

I really think OU blew their chance at a #1 last saturday when they could'nt hold a 15 pt lead over Texas in Norman.............THEY HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME BUT THEMSELVES............

For what it's worth, I have to agree with mav & gj. IMO more weight is put on the regular season wins/losses than the tourney. OU has won the last two Big XII tourneys, and last year that win got them a #2 (might have been a #3 - I can't remember.) I think that the selection comm. puts weight on what they do in the conf. tourney, but not enough to boost OU to the #1, eventhough texas underperformed yesterday. Sucks to be us, we got bitchslapped by the horns, and now we've got to deal with it.

imo there is a HUGE difference between #1 and #2 seed this year....get Pitt/Duke/Illinois whoever as your other big seed in your bracket or you get Kentucky/Arizona.....
i personally think OU deserves it....yeah the Sips got em twice but they were close games.....much better looking than a blowout to Bob Knight where your defense is nonexistent...
Sooners were getting screwed all night by the refs....think they refs had the +5 out there....horribly officiated game....treat Emmett with more respect than Jordan.....

KU lost to OU in the final last yr and KU still got the #1 based on winning the conference title. The committee thinks its more important on what happens during the conference season rather than a week of tourney games.........

I really think the comittee is screwing the seeding up with this pod system. Too many screw ups trying to get teams to play in certain areas.
