Why in the world a sports book would make a line -.5 on an NBA game?

Just got back from Silverton, and they had pistons -0.5, and cavs +0.5.

They've been open 8 days, and had weird NFL lines last week too.

Certainly there can't be so much teaser action to override game action. Am I crazy to wonder about this, and does anyone have a good answer?

Not that it's related but, I think the Silverton has been taken over by the weasels from Cantor.

They already ruined the book at the M...the Palms is not quite as bad as, so far, the management team there is still aware of the concept of customer service.

There are going to be fewer and fewer places in Vegas to fine a decent line (and impossible to get a free drink) in any sportsbook.

It is a Cantor property. Same shitty attitude, which I've grown to expect. But shady lines are interesting.
The logic of a 0.5 line in a sport which has never had a tie escapes me yet
