What the heck Pittsburgh's manager was thinking tonight?
Paul Maholm - one of Pitt's better SP - if not their best - was obviously off his game tonight. He had given up 5 runs in 5 innings - and gave up 11 HITS in 5 INNINGS!
So, why in the world, would the manager run him out there in the 6th inning - and let him give up 3 more hits????
It's not like the Bullpen is tired out - Pitt didn't even play Monday!
I can't remember the last time I saw a single pitcher give up 14 hits in a game.....
So 2 questions:
1. What was the Pitt manager doing?
2. Does anyone know how to look up "the last time a pitcher gave up 14 or more hits in a game"?????
