Bought one of those triple torch lighters on cigarbid last week. It was only $8 so its not like if it gets ruined its the end of the world, just wondering if you guys keep them in your humidor and whether it suffers long term problems from being in there. My RH is around 70% I just dont know what that does to a lighter. Just so happens my cat loves to climb the bookshelf where my humidor is and bat around anything not tied down or heavy enough. Cigarbid is a pretty cool site for you cigar lovers, if you are careful, you can get some real good deals.

I would not keep it in the humidor for the sake of the cigars. In all honesty you are supposed to light a cigar with wood matches only, lighter fluid gets in the taste of the tobacco, so at the risk of even a small leak I would store it somewhere else.

Thanks penguinfan, they come in a small tin similar to a Zippo tin so a leak wont be a problem, I'm more concerned about the functioning of the lighter. The problem I have now is every time I read something, I surf to the next site and it says somethinc completely different. One says certain lighters are OK, one says any lighter as long as you give it a quick exhale to blow the taste out, one says none at all. Thats why I want to get the opinion of folks here, figure its much better than going from site to site. Thanks again.

Ace, I have (IMO) a very nice Colibri with a swing out cutter and I don't have a problem lighting with it. I would be concerned since lighters like that and the one you bought are refillable that they just may leak a bit and that may enough to wreck a few cigars.

Yeah thats a real good point. I think I am going to get a new humidor in the near future and am going to get one that has a seperator or two and/or some type of shelf or tray inside to aleviate the problem. But its definitely something to watch
