Hey 1837 :)

Yup, alot of penalties in a row, some were deserved but some very questionable, they clearly got away with too many on the ice, I think the ref didn't dare call it but it was obvious.

I though that USA penalty in the first was a bad call and that body checking penalty on the US and Canada ? As the guy said, how do you give a bodychecking penalty on someone carrying the puck? It was just coincidental, terrible call.

I'd just wish that they would let them play the game, if there's a penalty, call it, but if it's iffy, let them play.

Great game though.

Thanks :)

It was a great game all around, thought some of the penalties were brutal but others that should have been called were let go.

Even though I'm biased I thought Canada was full value for the win and deserved it. Especially when I hear team USA had the Canadian flag on the floor in their dressing room. If it's true it was a classless act, especially on the part of the coaching staff if they allowed it.

Great game though, I thought both teams played well and left everything on the ice.

Super Call C.I.!!

Watched the entire game as well, and yes, thought the Canadian girls were full value for the victory.

As far as the officiating, it was brutal, but as the game wore on you could tell that this ref was not biased against Canada, but just completely inept to begin with. Like others have pointed out, she made calls that were totally phantom, and missed other blatant infractions that should have been called.

But I thought the real key to the officiating fiasco was the fact that the Canadian coach never once lost her cool behind the bench. She was given ample opportunity to go ballistic and yell and scream, but she made the choice not to do that, and her calm, collected manner showed in her team as they never panicked as they killed off, what was it, 7 or 8 penalties in a row. If she had blown her stack, then I feel her team would have lost their composure and would have lost this game.

And the deal with the Canadian Flag on the floor in the USA dressing room seems to have a little more behind it than first met the eye last night. Some reports say that the American Team had the Canadian Flag on the wall in their dressing room as a sign of respect, and it just fell off. Who knows?

Anyway, great call C.I............keep em coming!

Thanks Tiger :)

I was shocked they could hold their emotions in with all the calls against them.
I think even with the win I was more impressed with the fact that they kept their focus the whole game and never changed their pace, no matter what happened.

That Canadian flag thing has been the HUGE topic here on the airwaves, people are pretty pissed at it. If it did happen I don't buy the it fell down excuse, just a stupid move by the coaching staff that they allowed it to happen.

If we had done that the backlash would have been huge.
