first off,i don`t like canelo...I`ll be rooting like hell for the Cuban.....
the venue is akin to a home game for alvarez...golden boy(more appropriately, shady boy) backing canelo....I do have to give golden boy credit for throwing alvarez into deep water of late(it only took em around 40 fights to get there...lol)..
the problem handicapping this fight is"which lara shows up"?....the lara that actually beat paul Williams and played with Austin trout?.....or the lara that couldn`t separate himself from matyrosyan and struggled mightily with the pedestrian skillset of alfredo angulo?.... he also drew with clever carlos Molina...anybody else notice that lara does well vs other southpaws and struggles with upper level righties?.....that seems odd to me...whatever...
the only high profile fight that lara seemed to be in complete control was his fight with trout...so to me,it looks like another nip and tuck affair with all the peripheral advantages (venue/promotion/yada,yada) falling alvarez` way... ...
I see a cautious fight with some solid exchanges...the lefty/righty dynamic could lead to head clashes(as was the case in lara vs martyrosyan)..
much to my chagrin, all things considered, lara will have to separate himself from canelo by an appreciable margin to get a decision(hell, canelo got a draw on one card vs Floyd...ridiculous)...and that`s not something he does consistently at this level.....
