DETROIT LIONS ?4 - New coach Steve Mariucci is trying to bring a winning attitude to the Lions, who are coming off of a dismal 3-13 season. They could not find a softer opponent against whom to start the new year on a winning note, as Arizona is arguably the worst team in all of football. Besides, no matter how bad Detroit has been over the years, they always manage to do well against the number at home, going a solid 27-20-1, 57.4% ATS at home since 1997. They even managed a winning 5-3 ATS home mark last season during their 3-13 campaign. On the other side of the field, just how bad are the Cardinals? Well, they have the worst ATS record in the NFL over the last 5 years, going 31-49-2, 38.8% ATS over this span! Furthermore, they have not been fast starters either, going 3-7 ATS in all September games since the 2000 season.
