One of the all-sports radios here in Toronto (FAN590) has claimed (twice now) that Chris Carpenter is starting for the Jays, as opposed to Joey Hamilton.

The books are still listing Hamilton, and the change doesn't really make sense as Chris would be going on 3 days rest, if he is starting.

Regardless, if Carpenter pitches then the Jays have a better chance of winning -- he is quickly becoming the ace of this staff (not saying too much there).

Anyways, I wouldn't touch this game with a ten-foot pole if its Wakefield/Hamilton, but might consider a small Jays mistake if Carpenter is starting.

Anybody else heard about this change of starter, of is this radio station out to lunch?
(wouldn't be the first time).

CARPENTER ( i pronounce it shar-pawn-tee-ay)
becoming the ace of the staff is making me eat crow. I hated him last year...I mean I REALLY hated him. and now he seems to be pitching well, but i'm still not sold on him.
The jays make-shift starting rotation is falling apart, so's their relief core and their hitting core.
But we'll see if they turn it around.
