Sometimes horses names are neat........one wonders where they came from etc. I haven't heard about Castle Gandolfo for a long time, since my schooling, actually. But it rang a bell immediately........with the Pope in the news lately, this should be interesting as Castle Gandolfo is his vacation palace/home.
So, anyone expecting a winner from this thread, sorry, only a tidbit of info. Gandolfo , however is one of my pix that could pop today. Although my family has been heavily involved in the horse racing industry for the last 50 years, I usually just sit & watch the beauty of it all and not "invest" any $ in the animals themselves or cash to the "tote" board. (Unless, of course some privvi information comes thru. And it does once in awhile, once or twice a year or so.) And, no, there is no info for today, this race is too big for that. it is very difficult to come out ahead on either end (owning or wagering) without alot of things going right for you.
So, just on Kentucky Derby day & Breeder's Cup day I play a few things with the info that I have gathered throughout the year.
The race seems pretty wide open, the track is not as slow as it was a couple of days ago.........so, seeing as there are alot of horses in the field, I figure that there are that many more that can beat the chalk. So, I will go with just a lil favorite flavor with Harlan's Holiday & couple that with Medaglia D'oro & Castle Gandolfo. I havent decided what to do with Saarland yet.
