I haven't looked at this game in depth yet. I just wanted to pass along something i do know. David Wells has really struggled in day games the past few years. He has been very good this year but the previous two years show a very large discrepancy from his night numbers.

I just wanted to give a heads up. Good luck.

Interesting stuff Robbo. Here's some numbers:

Wells during the Day last season: 8 starts, 1-3 with a 7.15 ERA
Wells during the Day for his career: 4.68 ERA which is much higher than his career Night ERA of 3.77

Also, maybe a little extra motivation for the Cubbies:

Jun 5 Paul Sullivan of The Chicago Tribune reports Chicago Cubs manager Dusty Baker had some choice words saved for New York Yankees pitcher David Wells, who has criticized Cubs outfielder Sammy Sosa in recent days. "David Wells has a lot of room to talk," Baker said. "I like him, but I didn't know he was so saintly... I just hope they don't bring any skeletons out of David's closet. He has a huge closet."

Good info. Wells hasn't liked the Cubbies since he was with the White sox and the Cubs put down three straight bunts against him to start the game and injured the fat ass. I would love to see the Cubs do the same thing to him today.
