The Cavaliers and Boston Celtics will announce a six-player trade this afternoon that includes Ricky Davis, according to sources.
The Cavs will send Ricky Davis, Chris Mihm and Michael 'Yogi' Stewart to the Celtics for Tony Battie, Kedrick Brown and Eric Williams.
Davis, in the second year of a five-year, $34 million contract, was the team's leading scorer last season, averaging 20.6 points per game. In five NBA seasons, he has averaged 11.7 points per game. This season, Davis is averaging 15.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
Davis was benched twice this season by coach Paul Silas and was held out of one game for disciplinary reasons. Davis and Silas also had problems during Davis' rookie year with Charlotte.
Williams, a 6-8 guard/forward out of Providence, is averaging 11.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Battie, a guard, is averaging 5.9 points and Brown, a 6-7 guard/forward, averages 5.2 points and 3.2 rebounds.
