EASTERN MICHIGAN +7 - Yes, Eastern Michigan is 1-8 and they have yet to beat a Division 1A school, but if they were ever in a position to post an upset victory, this just might be the week! Central Florida is in turmoil, as they have just suspended quarterback Ryan Schneider for the rest of the season for violating unspecified team rules. You may be surprised to know that Schneider ranks 3rd among active NCAA quarterbacks in career touchdown passes with 82, so he obviously leaves some gigantic shoes to fill. Even with Schneider at the helm, Central Florida is a winless 0-6 S/U on the road this season, going just 1-5 ATS in those contests. They have been especially bad on defense on the road, surrendering 37.5 points on 433.8 total yards of offense per game. While the Eastern Michigan defense is no great shakes either, their home numbers (31.2 points, 405.4 yards allowed) are actually slightly better than the Golden Knights road numbers! While there is no denying that UCF has the better offense when at full capacity, it is not certain if this is the case with their back-up quarterback in the game, and EMU may actually have more offensive success than usual vs. this weak Central Florida defense. I look for the Hurons to put enough points on the board to take this game down to the wire, with an outright upset not an impossibility.

Football Closes Out Practice For The Week

ORLANDO ? Rain washed away the final practice for UCF before Saturday?s game at Eastern Michigan Thursday afternoon in Orlando. The team hit the field an hour early, but rain forced practice to be moved indoors.

For half of Thursday?s workout, the offensive worked out in the UCF Arena, going through a walk-through for Saturday?s game. The defense met in segments in the Wayne Densch Sports Center before both sides switched halfway through.

With the weather forcing practice indoors, head coach Mike Kruczek has yet to name a starter for Saturday?s game. ?It will be a game-time decision,? stated Kruczek.

Sophomore Adam Butcher will start at center while redshirt freshman Sean Gilhuly will make his first career start at right guard. True freshman cornerback Ron Ellis will make his first career start also Saturday.

The coaching staff also announced the weekly ?Big Stick? award winner. Redshirt freshman Gabby Torres was given the award for his big hit on special teams at West Virginia.

Saturday?s game is the MAC Television Game of the Week. Cable subscribers in Orlando/Daytona Beach/Melbourne markets along with Tampa/St. Petersburg will see the game live at noon. The rest of the state will see it when it replays on Sunshine at 12 midnight.

Satellite subscribers can watch the game live nationwide on Sunshine Network, Channel 632 on
DirecTV and Channel 422 on DISH Network.
