Why is Valuev favorite in the rematch? Is there so much money in a fight between Wlad and Valuev that something really rotten is going on? I can't find one good reason why money is coming in on Valuev. I'm on Chagaev, and I want to load up, but I'm getting a felling that I'm missing something here.

I think because he is a monster. Other than that I don't get it either.

Most thought Valuev looked much improved against Lyakhovich, he threw and landed a wider variety of punches including the uppercut which he attempted several times a round. I would think that has something to do with the early odds. But more importantly, and Helle already touched on it, is the promotion of the fight and their plans on setting up a huge fight with Wlad down the road.

DLH lost to Felix Sturm prior to the Hopkins fight, but the promotion involved made sure DLH got the "win" regardless of how bad he really got beat. Valuev fights are very hard to score, I expect this fight to be a little closer than the first, its very possible Valuev gets the decision regardless of what happens in the ring. Valuev is a much more marketable guy who sells tickets on his size alone, the powers that be are looking for Valuev win here. I rarely bet against the juice in a big fight, and this is not a good spot to go against that logic.

I already have several parlays including the Over 9.5 -425, and thats the only wager I'm focused on in this fight...until the decision props come out of course

from what i`ve seen of valuev(minimal),he seems like a decent technician for a guy that size....doesn`t have the power you might expect, but i`d guess when you`re that big it`s difficult to get real speed and snap on your punches...

i think that lyakhovich was an excellent style match-up for valuev....a quicker chagaev, not so much...

why the rematch so soon?...was the first decision razor-thin?...or are they just pushing valuev for the big klitschko payday?...

that would concern me a bit...if that`s the case, you know hagaev will have to win the rematch going way...

is there a homecourt advantage here for either ruskie?...i know both are german-based,but i don`t know if the venue favors either...

According to boxrec...

promoter: Klaus Peter Kohl : Universum Box Promotion

Chagaev's promoter...but that doesn't mean Sauerland won't have an influence.

Does Don King still have his hands on Valuev as well?

Valuev has fought twice since then...Chagaev once

Scores were 117-111 / 115-113 / 114-114 in the first fight

Chagaev looked like sh!t against Skelton who is 40 years old and extremely limited. That might've had some influence on the opening odds as well

In my book the first fight wasn't that close. Chagaev could hit Valuev at will. Chagaev's workrate is a little low, and his stamina too, so there were close rounds that could have gone either way. As I remember, Valuev had no really good round. The crowd was totally behind Chagaev. When he hit Valuev with clean shoots, the crowd went crazy. It's difficult to hit Chagaev clean, especially for Valuev. First fight was Sauerland promotion. Like Boxlocks said, the next one will be under Universum. I hope there is no fix and that the reason for the odds is Chagaev's fight with Skelton. I have to bet on Chagaev here, I think he has Valuev's number. :0corn
