another fantastic matchup in this year's bowl lineup. why did i say i'd play every bowl game?
notre dame (+3) 1 unit. as usual, the big question mark is motivation. i have to believe that edge goes to nd this game. fsu started the season with talk of a national championship. now here they are in their home state, playing in the champ sports bowl on 12/29. the best group on the field today will obviously be the fsu defense, but how hard have they really been practicing since beating florida? playing nd certainly doesn't get teams fired up like it once did. nd isn't very good, and they are the 3rd-worst team in the country in TO margin. but their defense is underrated, and i think they'll keep nd in the game. fsu has the 99th ranked rushing offense in the country, so they'll have to throw the ball to move the chains. and i don't think manuel can consistently make the right throws. i'm also a big fan of brian kelly, and think he'll have this team ready to play.
under (46.5) 2 units. probably the better play this game. i don't see either team being able to sustain drives. hopefully nd's turnovers won't come deep in their own territory.
