#76 Ramsey, Chaz OL 6-4 284 Fr (HS) Madison, MS (Madison Central HS)

This is the guy who tried to end Glen Dorsey's career. I hope he gets exactly what he deserves.

What a scumbag. I was unable to see the obviously intentional chop block which could have ended Glen Dorsey's career last night because I was at the game. I watched this morning and it makes me sick. It was clearly intentional. This player better be suspended. Auburn coaching staff should be embarassed, and not only because of they have already lost 3 games. Absolutely disgraceful.

I saw that chop block last night and was hoping
he'd get kicked out of the game and thrown out
of football. He couldn't have tried any harder to
break his leg at the kneecap. Mother F$cker
should be thrown out of college fb.

Thankfully, Glen Dorsey does not appear to be seriously injured. Kudos to Tubberville for issuing an apology and condemning this type of play. I was pleased to read this on an LSU blog this morning:

Auburn head coach Tommy Tubberville issued an apology for the block Sunday afternoon and said that Auburn does not teach that kind of football. Tubberville said there should have been a 15-yard penality on the play. According to reports I received Sunday afternoon, Dorsey did not suffer a serious injury from the block.

I still hope for a suspension for the OG, but feel better that Dorsey's NFL career does not appear to be in jeopardy. Dorsey is definitely a class guy who does not deserve to lose his chance at an NFL career over bush league tactics.

Tommy Tuberville wants to make one thing very clear: Auburn's head coach in no way condones the chop block that knocked LSU All-American defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey out of the game in the third quarter of Saturday night's AU-LSU matchup.

"We do not teach it. We will not teach it. We won't tolerate it," said Tuberville. "One thing all the coaches in our league have talked about is chop blocks at the line of scrimmage and roughing the quarterback. We want the officials to call those. That should have been a 15-yard penalty."

AP: Alex Brandon

Tuberville took part in another classic AU-LSU game.
Dorsey was being blocked by right guard Chaz Ramsey and right tackle Lee Ziemba when Ramsey dropped down and hit Dorsey in the knees.

"It was a zone play," Tuberville explained. "One guy goes to the outside shoulder, one guy goes to the inside shoulder. Ramsey checks the linebacker coming through first. He steps, no linebacker, then you block. What happened is the linebacker went the other way and Lee just stayed on the guy.

"It was two freshmen, and they were trying like the dickens to block him, and there wasn't any malice in that. Obviously, we blocked him below the waist, blocked him high and below the waist. We talked to the people involved, and there was no malice at all, no trying to hurt anybody or intentionally do anything."

Dorsey was able walk off the field but remained on the sidelines the remainder of the game as LSU stormed back from a 17-7 halftime deficit to pull out a 30-24 last-second win.

An update on Dorsey's status wasn't available Sunday but Tuberville was encouraged that he was able to walk off under his own power. Tuberville said because there was no malice or intent to harm, Ramsey would not face any team sanctions.

"Chaz feels bad about it," said Tuberville. "Again, that was just one of those things that happens. I hope he's fine.

"I hate it happened to (Dorsey) because he came back to get his degree and finish out in college football. That's what we all want, these kids to stay in and finish a degree. He's a great kid, works hard and plays hard."

he will be suspended

Chaz Ramsey getting threats.
He and his family are getting threats on message boards and yes, phone calls to him and his family back in Mississippi.

CLASSY...

Sad to hear this news. It makes me feel bad for openly criticizing him on this forum. In the end, all we're talking about a teenager who made a mistake.

Just wondering, how did "they" locate his family's phone number:shrug:
