DTB - please tell me what a chik-fil-a is!!??? Is it really an upmarket KFC? There is no need to send me one.....

Three decent bets for me this week:

Kelly Robbins 66 Hills - 3 time runner up and the price compensates for doubts about current form

Lorena Ochoa 25 Hills - huh????? Ok, so she folded in her last event, but this is the best young player in the world we're talking about...I thought 14/1 was ok

Laura Davies - 28 Stan James - contiunes to defy the doubters (me!) by confirming her Aussie form was no fluke..past winner here.

Also managed to get 125/1 Heather Bowie at a certain Australian bookmaker! Rate her quite highly.

:D I think it is up-beat KFC. Have to admit I have never eaten there but have seen many.
Hope the punters don't hit Robbins to hard till place wagers are available.May have to throw an early e/w with Anika out of field before the line gets trounced.

Outright plays (1.5 units):

Lorie Kane to win 33/1 e.w. @ Five Dimes and Ladbrokes
Finished the 2002 season in excellent form and has reproduced that form in patches this year. From just five starts this year, she finish 2nd in her first start of 2003 (Welch's/Fry Championship), finished in the top-10 in the Office Depot Championship and was in the top-10 in the Nabisco Championship at the cut. With a little more consistency, she could be a real contender this week as her course form is very impressive: from 1997 to 2000 she finished inside the top-5 each year.

Cristie Kerr to win 40/1 e.w. @ Five Dimes
Kerr's course is not at all spectacular, but she has approached the event every time in either very poor form or straight after her maiden Tour win. This time she has shown good form all year and comes off a 2nd place finish in last week's Takefuji Classic. This should be her best finish at Eagle's Landing.

Beth Daniel to finish in the top-five 9/1 @ Five Dimes
Has just played three events this year and finished inside the top-15 on each occasion, including one top-5. Her last win may have been back in 1995, but she has remained competitive on this Tour and can boast a top-3 finish two years ago on this course and top-5 finishes in four of her last fifteen LPGA Tour starts. Definitely one for the place-only option.

Matchup plays (1.5 units):

Christina Kim to beat Gloria Park -103 @ Five Dimes
Kim has not played in this event until this week, but her opponent's course history is not particularly good and nor is her current form. She has been over-par in every round in her last three tournaments and withdrew after a first-round 78 last week.

Mi-Hyun Kim to beat Patricia Meunier-Lebouc -111 @ Expekt
No problems with Meunier-Lebouc's form as she won the Nabisco Championship last month. She did miss her last cut though and finished behind Kim last year whose form has been steady and has two top-10 finishes from three visits to Eagle's Landing.

Catriona Matthew to beat Michelle Wie -140 @ Five Dimes
With finishes of 5th and 12th in her last two visits to Eagle's Landing, plus top-15 finishes in her last four starts, Matthew should be too strong for Wie this week. She has beaten her in all three of their previous common events and is playing well enough to continue the run.

1st round plays (1.5 units):

Kelli Kuehne to beat Janice Moodie -122 @ Five Dimes
Christina Kim to beat Gloria Park -111 @ Five Dimes

Final update:

Disappointing loss on the event. Kerr was in the top-5 after the 1st round, Daniel was in the top-5 after the 2nd round, but no-one was there when it mattered after the 3rd round.
