Need some advice from the Gear Heads of MJ.
Have any of you ever been to the Chili Bowl Nationals in Tulsa?

http://www.chilibowl.com/home.asp?uUrl=1/7/201040631.88

They are next Tues through Sat.

I have a buddy pass for SWA and was thinking of using it to fly into Tulsa for the Wed and Thurs. qualify nights about 60 cars each night.
Thursday night is the big lineup night as it features Kasey Kahne, Sammy Swindell, Cruz Pedregon, Jason Leffler, and Terry McCarl.

Tickets on Stubhub are going for $55 a night.

My question if anyone has attended is the following:
Is it entertaining? I attend any WOO show whenever in Texas and enjoy them.
Is there a bad seat in the place? It looks small and doesn't seem to matter where you are sitting.
How many tight races and big crashes are there on average per night?

Thanks for any info.

Wear hearing protection ! ! ! Bring Tylenol :mj07:

I would love to go, have a great time.

Lefler is a great driver at this track, any car owned by Kasey Kahne or Tony Stewart at the Chili Bowl has a shot.

Kahne and Stewart are a step behind Swindell Motorsports in Midget racing.

Sammy dominated last years event.

Its amazing the draw of big name drivers this race seems to get every year. I personally can't get into bullring midget racing. If you are going to see crashes you won't be disappointed. Local PA drivers from my area Cody Darrah and Steve Buckwalter will be there and they can both drive the wheels off of a sprint car. The Darrah kid just signed a deal with Kasey Kahne for the WoO tour this year. If you go have a good time and definately take ear protection as previously mentioned.

Thanks. I decided that I am going and about to grab a few days tickets online.

The noise doesn't bother me as I goto the WoO Sprint and also go every year to NHRA events without ear plugs. That does bother me a little.:)

Have a great time Kegray, like I needed to say that....

I do need hearing protection because after 15 years of service my hearing is damaged, 40% loss in both ears, tubes in my ears, blah blah blah....

So I do have to protect what I have left, next time I go to NHRA I will bring a protective mask as well when I am in the pits, that exhaust put me on the ground :mj07: :scared

Work schedule just would not allow me to make it this year.
I was leaning on heading to the airport and flying on my buddy pass this afternoon and returning in the early am.
Hotels are rough to get in Tulsa right now in that area and I would have to buy a scalped and have no idea how many are out there.
So I guess I am passing even though I really want to just get in the car and head to the airport.

Sammy Swindell's 20 year old son, Kevin was dominate last night so it could be a father-son shootout on Sat.
Sammy got flipped on Tues. in the Champions race.
