Dances.....these are all mixed up

will list them and tomorrow am will add the reasons

UCLA -3 over Bonnies **

Baylor -15 over Wagner ******
love the Bears...but where is there " mental state of mind"...if Bears bring their A game they win by +25...think Scott Drew might be able to get his kids up...when Baylor plays weaker teams in non conference they have no mercy...will be back to tomorrow for some stats..one bad inside info.. I play racquetball everyday with a Baylor season ticket holder..before I put my gym bag down this morning he asked me " box,you want 2 tickets to the Wagner game"..I said no thanks..leaving the next morning for Vegas...I asked him is anybody going and he said no....so think the crowd will be small...

St Marys -15 over SEL **

Oregon -11 over Rider ****

URI-OU over 158 ***

Texas Tech -11 over SFA **

Davidson +5.5 over Kentucky **
My boys getting no respect...Wildcats aren't scared of other Wildcats..

South Dakota St +8 over Ohio St **
Dauminator ain't scared of Buckeyes...

South Dakota -13 ?? over North Texas ****
How did NT get in any tourney..15-17 record..lost 6 of last 8...maybe got in due to their academic scores like they did in football 2 yrs ago..the NCAA awarded them a bowl game with a 5-7 because of high grade pt average...and I always knew this..in 1969 I could of gone to Yale,Columbia, and Harvard...and I narrowed it down to those 3 and North Texas... chose North Texas State and the rest is history...but if you took the 3.1 grade pt avg and added that to their last 8 basketball game they would of won 6 of 8....proud of my Alma mater but think your going to get your ass beaten bad...

Zona -9 over Buffalo **
Love my Bulls and said they will win the MAC..they did that..but also said they cannot play a team with an big front line...oh uh...Ayton is 7'1...Bulls can score but defense is bad..maybe the over looks good...Bulls are working on their "pump fakes"...I would have them all "fake pumping" in the dorm ,hallways,at the airport and on the airplane...you see I left school out because no one goes to any classes except if you are a Mean Green player

Back tomorrow ...
Am arriving in Vegas Wednesday afternoon...I hang out at Southpoint,"M" and Green Valley...I'll do one day on the strip..if anyone wants to meet up let IE or Madjack give you my email...I stay with a retired nurse from one of my HS's..she is local and locals don't go to the strip..they play a lot at the Stations...

I really narrowed it down to 3 schools...TCU,North Texas and Manhattan College....my father wanted me to go to Manhattan where he went...my aunt,my mothers sister lived on 251st in Riverdale which is a part of the Bronx...its about a mile or two from the Manhattan campus..my mother said you can live with my sister....OMG..living with my aunt would be the same as living with my parents... I was turned down at Cortland and Springfield the 2 best Phys Ed schools in the east.. Grades and SAT's scores I guess..really don't think the Ivies had any interest in me...Dances.....these are all mixed up

will list them and tomorrow am will add the reasons

Summer of 1990. My dad and I drive from Connecticut to Bloomington, Indiana to register me for enrollment (and take the placement tests) at Indiana University in the Fall. I'm 17 years old at the time.

We're sitting next to an incoming female student and her mother outside the coffee shop in the student union.
We strike up a conversation (I was shocked how friendly Midwesterners were...had never been away from the Northeast, besides vacations in Florida and the Caribbean. People actually have conversations with people they didn't know? It was a new concept for me.:142smilie )

Before seeing this girl, I was 99% certain I was going to be a Hoosier. After seeing her? 100% certain. But that's a different story. :SIB

Anyway, the mom says to me "Oh, you're from Connecticut? How come you didn't go to Yale?"
I see my dad holding back his laughter, with the coffee about to come out of his nose.
So I say to the mom "Well, I wanted to get away from home. Plus, Yale doesn't offer the 'physical education' major I desire."

:mj07:

The real answer should have been: "Well, ma'am, I didn't have the grades, I didn't have the SAT scores, and I didn't have the money to go to Yale." :142smilie

Then my dad says "But he did go on a field trip once to Yale's Peabody Museum in the fourth grade."
:142smilie:142smilie:142smilie

Never saw the girl again.

Sorry about that...lost my post...Hawkeye...Ivies were never interested in me.. It came down to TCU,North Texas and Manhattan college ....if I wanted manhattan college my aunt and uncle lived about 10 blocks from the campus...my parents said that would be great living with them....omg...heard North Texas was a party school and it was 3-1 girls to boys and 7-1 girls to boys in Denton since Texas Womans Univ is there...forget TCU in Fort Worth...got rejected by Springfield which was the best Phys Ed in the country..
anyway no regrets..loved my 4.5 years at North Texas.... don't laugh about the 4 and a half...I got an All Level degree K-12, double major History and PE...got certified in Health 7-12 and Driver Safety { Drivers Ed}...the day I graduated was offered a teaching position back in NY...about 10 candidates with experience .. I was a rookie..but the new Superintendent at the school wanted to add Drivers Ed to the school...so I was the only one certified to teach it..I leaped frog over those 10 and was there for 23 years before I left for a Principal's position...my father may he rest in peace made me stay and get certified in Heath and Dr Ed's...

Met my wife at North Texas in summer school dribbling a basketball in front of Kerr Hall doing a pistol pete imitation...had just broken up with my girlfriend of 2 years the night before... how ironic...met my wife and have been married 41 years and found her on a rebound from another relationship...I guess basketball is my life..and if Baylor wins tomorrow sure will be a lot happier...

Box, love your stories. I can relate because you and my father (who just retired...43 years as a p.e teacher, former high school varsity basketball coach, turned referee) seem to have very similar careers and personalities. Like you, he has TONS of great stories.
My family is from New Canaan, Connecticut and Norwalk, Connecticut. (New Canaan is now home to many celebrities and multi-millionaires, but my whole family is in education, myself included, so we brought the per capita income down a bit :142smilie)
I attended Norwalk High School, which is located on Calvin Murphy Drive)
Danbury is about 35-40 minutes away. I'm down by the Long Island Sound.
Danbury Mall, when I was a little kid, used to be the site of the annual Danbury Fair. It was huge and great. I'd say they they built that mall in the mid-80s or so.

I had interest from Columbia to play football there in 1969 but I don't think they had checked my grades. I made pretty decent grades but I'm sure it wasn't Ivy league level. Have always wondered what if though.
